¹³ อย่าให้เขาทั้งหลายเข้ามาใกล้เรา เพื่อจะรับใช้เราในตำแหน่งปุโรหิต หรือเข้ามาใกล้สิ่งบริสุทธิ์ใดๆของเราในที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุดนั้น แต่เขาต้องทนรับความอับอายขายหน้า และการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งหลายซึ่งเขาได้กระทำนั้น

¹ ฝ่ายนาดับกับอาบีฮูบุตรชายของอาโรน ต่างนำกระถางไฟของเขามาและเอาไฟใส่ในนั้นแล้วใส่เครื่องหอมลง เอาไฟที่ผิดรูปแบบมาเผาถวายบูชาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งพระองค์มิได้ทรงบัญชาให้เขากระทำเช่นนั้น

² ไฟก็พุ่งขึ้นมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ ไหม้เขาทั้งสองและเขาก็ตายต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

³ โมเสสจึงบอกอาโรนว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า `เราจะสำแดงความบริสุทธิ์ของเราท่ามกลางผู้ที่อยู่ใกล้เรา เขาจะถวายสง่าราศีแก่เราต่อหน้าพลไพร่ทั้งปวง'" และอาโรนก็นิ่งอยู่

⁴ โมเสสเรียกมิชาเอลและเอลซาฟาน บุตรชายของอุสซีเอล อาของอาโรน บอกเขาว่า "จงเข้ามาใกล้ หามเอาพี่น้องของเจ้าออกไปเสียนอกค่ายจากหน้าสถานบริสุทธิ์"

⁵ เขาก็เข้ามาใกล้หามศพทั้งเสื้อออกไปไว้นอกค่ายตามที่โมเสสสั่ง

⁶ และโมเสสกล่าวแก่อาโรนและเอเลอาซาร์และอิธามาร์ บุตรชายอาโรนว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าปล่อยผมห้อย หรือฉีกเสื้อผ้าของท่าน เกลือกว่าท่านจะต้องตายและเกลือกว่าพระพิโรธจะตกเหนือชุมนุมชนทั้งหมด แต่พี่น้องของท่านคือวงศ์วานอิสราเอลทั้งมวล จะไว้ทุกข์เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงให้บังเกิดการเผาไหม้ก็ได้

⁷ และอย่าออกไปจากประตูพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม เกลือกว่าท่านต้องตาย เพราะว่าน้ำมันเจิมแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์อยู่เหนือท่านทั้งหลาย" และเขาทั้งหลายก็กระทำตามคำของโมเสส

⁸ พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับอาโรนว่า

⁹ "เมื่อตัวเจ้าหรือบุตรชายของเจ้าจะเข้าไปในพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม อย่าดื่มเหล้าองุ่นหรือสุราเกลือกว่าเจ้าจะต้องตาย ทั้งนี้ให้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ถาวรอยู่ตลอดชั่วอายุของเจ้า

¹⁰ เจ้าจงแยกของบริสุทธิ์จากของไม่บริสุทธิ์และของมลทินจากของไม่มลทิน

¹¹ และเจ้าจะต้องสอนพลไพร่อิสราเอลให้ทราบถึงกฎเกณฑ์ทั้งมวลซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ตรัสแก่เขาทั้งหลายทางโมเสส"

¹² โมเสสกล่าวแก่อาโรนและเอเลอาซาร์ และอิธามาร์ บุตรชายของเขาผู้ที่เหลืออยู่ว่า "จงเอาธัญญบูชาซึ่งเหลือจากการบูชาด้วยไฟถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ มารับประทานที่ริมแท่นบูชาไม่ใส่เชื้อ เพราะเป็นของบริสุทธิ์ที่สุด

¹³ ท่านจงรับประทานในที่บริสุทธิ์เพราะเป็นส่วนของท่าน และส่วนของบุตรชายของท่าน จากเครื่องบูชาด้วยไฟถวายแด่พระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะข้าพเจ้าได้รับบัญชาดังนี้

¹⁴ แต่เนื้ออกที่แกว่งถวาย และเนื้อโคนขาที่ถวายแล้วนั้น ท่านจงรับประทานในที่สะอาด ทั้งตัวท่านและบุตรชายบุตรสาวของท่านก็รับประทานได้ เพราะเป็นส่วนที่ได้มาจากสันติบูชาของคนอิสราเอล อันตกอยู่กับท่านทั้งบุตรชายทั้งหลายของท่านด้วย

¹⁵ เนื้อโคนขาที่ถวายและเนื้ออกที่แกว่งถวายเขาจะนำมาบูชาพร้อมกับเครื่องไขมันที่บูชาด้วยไฟ เพื่อแกว่งเป็นเครื่องบูชาแกว่งถวายต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ สิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นของท่านและบุตรชายทั้งหลายของท่าน ให้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์เนืองนิตย์ ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงบัญชาไว้"

¹⁶ ฝ่ายโมเสสได้พยายามไต่ถามถึงเรื่องแพะซึ่งเป็นเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป และดูเถิด แพะตัวนั้นถูกเผาเสียแล้ว ท่านจึงโกรธเอเลอาซาร์และอิธามาร์บุตรชายของอาโรนที่เหลืออยู่ ท่านว่าเขาว่า

¹⁷ "เหตุไฉนท่านจึงมิได้รับประทานเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปในที่บริสุทธิ์ ในเมื่อเป็นของบริสุทธิ์ที่สุด และพระเจ้าได้ประทานของเหล่านั้นให้แก่ท่านเพื่อท่านจะได้รับความชั่วช้าของชุมนุมชน เพื่อทำการลบมลทินบาปของเขาทั้งหลายต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์

¹⁸ ดูเถิด เลือดสัตว์นั้นก็มิได้นำเข้ามายังที่บริสุทธิ์ที่ห้องชั้นใน ท่านควรจะได้รับประทานสิ่งเหล่านี้ในที่บริสุทธิ์ ดังที่ข้าพเจ้าได้บัญชาแล้วนั้น"

¹⁹ อาโรนจึงกล่าวแก่โมเสสว่า "ดูเถิด วันนี้เขาได้ถวายเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปและเครื่องเผาบูชาของเขาต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์แล้ว และเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้ก็ตกที่ข้าพเจ้าแล้ว ถ้าวันนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้รับประทานเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป จะเป็นที่โปรดปรานในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์หรือ"

²⁰ เมื่อโมเสสได้ฟังดังนั้น ท่านก็พอใจ

¹ "You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and its height shall be three cubits.

² You shall make its horns on its four corners; its horns shall be of one piece with it; and you shall overlay it with brass.

³ You shall make its pots to take away its ashes, its shovels, its basins, its flesh hooks, and its fire pans: all its vessels you shall make of brass.

⁴ You shall make a grating for it of network of brass: and on the net you shall make four bronze rings in its four corners.

⁵ You shall put it under the ledge around the altar beneath, that the net may reach halfway up the altar.

⁶ You shall make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with brass.

⁷ Its poles shall be put into the rings, and the poles shall be on the two sides of the altar, when carrying it.

⁸ You shall make it with hollow planks. They shall make it as it has been shown you on the mountain.

⁹ "You shall make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen one hundred cubits long for one side:

¹⁰ and its pillars shall be twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

¹¹ Likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings one hundred cubits long, and its pillars twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars, and their fillets, of silver.

¹² For the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits; their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

¹³ The breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

¹⁴ The hangings for the one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

¹⁵ For the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three.

¹⁶ For the gate of the court shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer; their pillars four, and their sockets four.

¹⁷ All the pillars of the court around shall be filleted with silver; their hooks of silver, and their sockets of brass.

¹⁸ The length of the court shall be one hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits, of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

¹⁹ All the instruments of the tabernacle in all its service, and all its pins, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

²⁰ "You shall command the children of Israel, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

²¹ In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh: it shall be a statute forever throughout their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
