1 Και την ογδοην ημεραν ο Μωυσης εκαλεσε τον Ααρων και τους υιους αυτου και τους πρεσβυτερους του Ισραηλ·

2 και ειπε προς τον Ααρων, Λαβε εις σεαυτον μοσχον εκ βοων δια προσφοραν περι αμαρτιας και κριον δια ολοκαυτωμα αμωμα και προσφερε αυτα εμπροσθεν του Κυριου.

3 Και εις τους υιους του Ισραηλ θελεις λαλησει, λεγων, Λαβετε τραγον εξ αιγων δια προσφοραν περι αμαρτιας και μοσχον και αρνιον ενιαυσια, αμωμα, δια ολοκαυτωμα,

4 και βουν και κριον δια ειρηνικην προσφοραν, εις θυσιαν εμπροσθεν του Κυριου, και προσφοραν εξ αλφιτων εζυμωμενην μετα ελαιου· διοτι σημερον θελει εμφανισθη ο Κυριος εις εσας.

5 Και εφεραν ο, τι προσεταξεν ο Μωυσης εμπροσθεν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου· και επλησιασε πασα η συναγωγη και εσταθη εμπροσθεν του Κυριου.

6 Και ειπεν ο Μωυσης, Ουτος ειναι ο λογος τον οποιον προσεταξε Κυριος να καμνητε· και θελει εμφανισθη εις εσας η δοξα του Κυριου.

7 Και ειπεν ο Μωυσης προς τον Ααρων, Προσελθε εις το θυσιαστηριον και καμε την περι αμαρτιας προσφοραν σου, και το ολοκαυτωμα σου και καμε εξιλεωσιν υπερ σεαυτου και υπερ του λαου· και προσφερε το δωρον του λαου και καμε εξιλεωσιν υπερ αυτων, καθως προσεταξεν ο Κυριος.

8 Και προσηλθεν ο Ααρων εις το θυσιαστηριον και εσφαξε τον μοσχον της περι αμαρτιας προσφορας, οστις ητο δι' αυτον.

9 Και οι υιοι του Ααρων εφεραν το αιμα προς αυτον· και ενεβαψε τον δακτυλον αυτου εις το αιμα και εβαλεν επι τα κερατα του θυσιαστηριου και εχυσε το αιμα εις την βασιν του θυσιαστηριου.

10 Το στεαρ ομως και τους νεφρους και τον επανω λοβον του ηπατος της περι αμαρτιας προσφορας εκαυσεν επι του θυσιαστηριου, καθως προσεταξεν ο Κυριος εις τον Μωυσην.

11 Το δε κρεας και το δερμα εκαυσεν εν πυρι εξω του στρατοπεδου.

12 Και εσφαξε το ολοκαυτωμα· και οι υιοι του Ααρων παρεστησαν εις αυτον το αιμα, και ερραντισεν αυτο επι του θυσιαστηριου κυκλω.

13 Και εφεραν προς αυτον το ολοκαυτωμα διαμεμελισμενον και την κεφαλην· και εκαυσεν αυτα επι του θυσιαστηριου.

14 Και επλυνε τα εντοσθια και τους ποδας· και εκαυσεν αυτα επι το ολοκαυτωμα επι του θυσιαστηριου.

15 Και προσεφερε το δωρον του λαου· και ελαβε τον τραγον της περι αμαρτιας προσφορας του λαου και εσφαξεν αυτον, και προσεφερεν αυτον περι αμαρτιας, καθως και το πρωτον.

16 Και προσεφερε το ολοκαυτωμα και εκαμεν αυτο κατα το διατεταγμενον.

17 Και προσεφερε την εξ αλφιτων προσφοραν· και ενεπλησε την χειρα αυτου απ' αυτης και εκαυσεν αυτην επι του θυσιαστηριου, εκτος του πρωινου ολοκαυτωματος.

18 Εσφαξεν ετι τον βουν και τον κριον της ειρηνικης θυσιας της υπερ του λαου· και οι υιοι του Ααρων παρεστησαν το αιμα προς αυτον, και ερραντισεν αυτο επι του θυσιαστηριου κυκλω,

19 και το στεαρ του βοος και του κριου, την ουραν και το στεαρ το καλυπτον τα εντοσθια και τους νεφρους και τον λοβον του ηπατος·

20 και εθεσαν τα στεατα επι τα στηθη, και εκαυσε τα στεατα επι του θυσιαστηριου·

21 τα δε στηθη και τον ωμον τον δεξιον εκινησεν ο Ααρων εις προσφοραν κινητην ενωπιον του Κυριου, καθως προσεταξεν ο Μωυσης.

22 Και υψωσας ο Ααρων τας χειρας αυτου προς τον λαον, ευλογησεν αυτους· και κατεβη, αφου προσεφερε την περι αμαρτιας προσφοραν και το ολοκαυτωμα και τας ειρηνικας προσφορας.

23 Και εισηλθεν ο Μωυσης και ο Ααρων εις την σκηνην του μαρτυριου· και εξελθοντες ευλογησαν τον λαον· και εφανη η δοξα του Κυριου εις παντα τον λαον.

24 Και εξηλθε πυρ απ' εμπροσθεν του Κυριου και κατεφαγεν επι του θυσιαστηριου το ολοκαυτωμα, και τα στεατα· ιδων δε πας ο λαος ηλαλαξαν και επεσον κατα προσωπον αυτων.

629. "And give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come." This symbolizes an acknowledgment and confession that all the Word's truth which makes the church a church comes from the Lord, and that everyone will be judged in accordance with it.

To give glory to Him means, symbolically, to acknowledge and confess that every truth comes from the Lord, as may be seen in no. 249 above; and because every truth that makes the church a church is drawn from the Word, it is the Word's truth that is meant. "For the hour of His judgment has come" means symbolically that everyone will be judged in accordance with the Word's truth. This is the symbolic meaning because to give glory to Him means, symbolically, to acknowledge and confess that the Word's truth all comes from the Lord, and we are told next, "for the hour of His judgment has come," the word "for" entailing this as the cause.

That everyone will be judged by the Word's truth may be seen in 233, 273 above. And that the church is founded on the Word, and that its character is such as its understanding of the Word, may be seen in The Doctrine of the New Jerusalem Regarding the Sacred Scripture, nos. 76-79.

It is apparent from this that the spiritual meaning of these words is as stated. It is as stated because angels in heaven perceive glory to mean nothing else than Divine truth; and because all Divine truth comes from the Lord, they perceive giving glory to Him to mean an acknowledgment and confession that all truth comes from Him. For all glory in the heavens springs from no other origin, and to the extent that any society in heaven is governed by Divine truth, to the same extent everything in it is radiant, and the angels are surrounded by a commensurate glorious radiance.

[2] That glory means Divine truth can be seen from the following passages:

The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of Jehovah... The glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it...." (Isaiah 40:3, 5)

...shine, for your light has come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon you... Jehovah will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1-2 to the end)

I will... give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles..., and My glory I will not give to another... (Isaiah 42:6, 8)

For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it... And I will not give My glory to another. (Isaiah 48:11)

They shall fear... His glory from the rising of the sun... The Redeemer will come to Zion... (Isaiah 59:19-20)

...your light shall break forth like the morning...; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. (Isaiah 58:8)

...He will come to gather all nations and tongues, that they may... see My glory. (Isaiah 66:18)

(Jehovah said,) "I live, and all the earth shall be filled with the glory of Jehovah." (Numbers 14:21)

The whole earth is full of His glory! (Isaiah 6:1-3)

In the beginning was the Word..., and the Word was God... In Him was life, and the life was the light of men... That was the true Light... And the Word became flesh..., and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father... (John 1:1, 4, 9, 14)

These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory... (John 12:41)

And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with... glory. (Matthew 24:3, 30)

The heavens shall declare the glory of God... (Psalms 19:1)

Then the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, and all the kings of the earth Your glory, because (He) built up Zion, (and) He appeared in His glory. (Psalms 102:15-16)

...the glory of God (will illuminate the Holy Jerusalem) and the Lamb is its light. And the nations (which) are saved shall walk in its light... (Revelation 21:23-25)

...the Son of Man (will come) in His glory...(to) sit on the throne of His glory. (Matthew 25:31, cf. Mark 8:38)

That the glory of Jehovah filled and covered the Tabernacle: Exodus 40:34-35, Numbers 14:10-12; 16:19; 16:42.

That it filled the house of Jehovah: 1 Kings 8:10-11.

And so on elsewhere as in Isaiah 24:23; Ezekiel 1:28; 8:4; 9:3; 10:4, 18-19; 11:22-23; Luke 2:32; 9:26; John 2:11; 7:18; 17:24.

1 "Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of Yahweh is risen on you.

2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.

3 Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

4 "Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms.

5 Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

6 The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of Yahweh.

7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on my altar; and I will glorify the house of my glory.

8 "Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the islands shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

10 "Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you: for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor have I had mercy on you.

11 Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

12 For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

13 "The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14 The sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending to you; and all those who despised you shall bow themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you The city of Yahweh, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 "Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16 You shall also drink the milk of the nations, and shall nurse from royal breasts; and you shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. I will also make your officers peace, and righteousness your ruler.

18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land, desolation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

19 The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to you: but Yahweh will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.

20 Your sun shall no more go down, neither shall your moon withdraw itself; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

21 Your people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22 The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, Yahweh, will hasten it in its time."
