Flax, as in Exodus 9:31, signifies truth of the natural exterior principle. A smoking flax, as in Isaiah 42:3, signifies a bit of truth from good. Flax, or linen, as in Hosea 2:5, 9, signifies truth from the literal sense of the Word.
