1 E QUANDO furon giunti vicino a Gerusalemme, in Betfage, e Betania, presso al monte degli Ulivi, Gesù mandò due de’ suoi discepoli.

2 E disse loro: Andate nel castello ch’è dirimpetto a voi; e subito, come entrerete là, troverete un puledro d’asino attaccato, sopra il quale non montò mai alcuno; scioglietelo, e menatemelo.

3 E se alcuno vi dice: Perchè fate questo? dite: Il Signore ne ha bisogno. E subito lo manderà qua.

4 Essi adunque andarono, e trovarono il puledro attaccato di fuori ad una porta, presso ad un capo di strada, e lo sciolsero.

5 Ed alcuni di coloro ch’eran quivi presenti dissero loro: Che fate voi in isciogliere il puledro?

6 Ed essi dissero loro come Gesù avea ordinato. Ed essi li lasciarono andare.

7 Ed essi menarono il puledro a Gesù, e gettarono sopra quello le lor vesti; ed egli montò sopra esso.

8 E molti distendevano le lor vesti nella via, ed altri tagliavan de’ rami dagli alberi, e li distendevano nella via.

9 E coloro che andavan davanti, e coloro che venivan dietro, gridavano, dicendo: Osanna! Benedetto sia colui che viene nel nome del Signore!

10 Benedetto sia il regno di Davide, nostro padre, il quale viene nel nome del Signore. Osanna ne’ luoghi altissimi!

11 E Gesù, entrato in Gerusalemme, venne nel tempio; ed avendo riguardata ogni cosa attorno attorno, essendo già l’ora tarda, uscì verso Betania, co’ dodici.


To many Protestant and Evangelical Italians, the Bibles translated by Giovanni Diodati are an important part of their history. Diodati’s first Italian Bible edition was printed in 1607, and his second in 1641. He died in 1649. Throughout the 1800s two editions of Diodati’s text were printed by the British Foreign Bible Society. This is the more recent 1894 edition, translated by Claudiana.

This year we look at the triumphal entry from Mark's perspective. We learn that Mark is more interested in Jesus' actions that His teachings, and that the symbolism given is that of putting the human mind back into order from a place of disorder.

Mark第11章:1-11

1 When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

2 and said to them, "Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him, and bring him.

3 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord needs him;' and immediately he will send him back here."

4 They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

5 Some of those who stood there asked them, "What are you doing, untying the young donkey?"

6 They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.

7 They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.

8 Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road.

9 Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!"

11 Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
