Verse 2. Truth from the Lord will then nourish and refresh the soul, as the rain from heaven nourishes the earth, and the perception given from Him will renew it with tranquillity and peace (Arcana Coelestia 8455); and this gentle influx from the internal to the external man produces happiness and charity, while genuine truth invigorates the knowledges that lead to heaven.
