Verse 3. But if the latter principles separate from that affection, and become completely removed from it, and leave it free, or if they perish out of the mind after having been conjoined to that affection with delight—that is, if uses are performed simply from necessity or from some selfish motive, and not with the co-operation of any of the truths or perceptions of duty in the soul—
