Amos 9

pag-aaral

I saw the Lord standing over the altar; and He said, Smite the knobs*, that the doorways may quake; and divide them in the head, all of them; and I will kill the last of them with the sword; he who flees of them shall not flee, and he that escapes of them shall not escape.

If they dig··through into hell, thence shall My hand take them; and if they go··up to the heavens, thence will I bring· them ·down;

and though they hide··themselves in the head of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hidden from in··front··of My eyes in the floor of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them;

and though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall kill them; and I will set My eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

And the Lord Jehovih* of Armies is He that touches the land, and it shall dissolve, and all that dwell in it shall mourn; and all of it shall go··up as the Nile; and shall be drowned, as by the Nile of Egypt.

It is He who builds His stairs in the heavens, and has founded His troop on the earth; He that calls for the waters of the sea, and spills them on the face of the earth; Jehovah is His name.

Are you not as sons of the Ethiopians unto Me, O sons of Israel? says Jehovah. Have not I brought··up Israel out··of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

Behold, the eyes of the Lord Jehovih are on the kingdom of the sinful, and I will blot· it ·out from upon the face of the ground; nonetheless surely blotting··out I will not blot··out the house of Jacob, says Jehovah.

For, behold, I will command, and I will move· the house of Israel ·back··and··forth among all the nations, as one moves··back··and··forth with a grate, and not the smallest··rock shall fall upon the earth.

All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, who say, The evil shall not approach nor go··before us.

In that day will I raise··up the shelter of David that is fallen, and fence··in their breaches; and I will raise··up what is broken··down with him, and I will build her as in the days of eternity;

so··that they may possess what··is··left of Edom, and of all the nations, upon whom My name is called, says Jehovah who is doing this.

Behold, the days are coming, says Jehovah, and the plower shall approach the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who draws the seed; and the mountains shall drop··down new··wine, and all the hills shall dissolve.

And I will return the captivity of My people of Israel, and they shall build the desolate cities, and dwell in them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of it; and they shall make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

And I will plant them upon their ground, and they shall no more be plucked··up out of their ground which I have given to them, says Jehovah thy God.
