Leviticus 13

Studie

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

When man shall have in the skin of his flesh a lump, or a scab, or a pustule, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of leprosy; then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons the priests;

and the priest shall see the plague in the skin of the flesh; and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the appearance of the plague be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall see him, and judge him unclean.

And if the pustule be white in the skin of his flesh, and its appearance be no deeper than the skin, and its hair be not turned white, then the priest shall close··up him that has the plague seven days;

and the priest shall see him the seventh day; and, behold, if the plague be at a stand still in his eyes, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall close· him ·up a second seven days:

and the priest shall see him on the second seventh day; and, behold, if the plague be dim, and the plague spread not in the skin, then the priest shall judge him clean; it is but a scab: and he shall wash his garments, and be··clean.

But if the scab spreading shall spread in the skin, after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest a second time;

and if the priest see, and behold the scab spreads in the skin, then the priest shall judge him unclean; it is leprosy.

When the plague of leprosy is in man, then he shall be brought to the priest;

and the priest shall see him; and, behold, if the lump be white in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be living live flesh in the lump;

it is a sleeping leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall judge him unclean, and shall not shut him up; for he is unclean.

And if the leprosy flourishing shall flourish in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that has the plague from his head, and even··to his foot, to all the sight of the eyes of the priest;

then the priest shall see; and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall judge him clean that has the plague; all of it turned white: he is clean.

But in the day living flesh is seen in him, he shall be··unclean.

And the priest shall see the living flesh, and judge him to be··unclean; for the living flesh, it is unclean: it is leprosy.

Or if the living flesh return, and be turned to white, he shall come to the priest;

and the priest shall see him; and, behold, if the plague be turned to white; then the priest shall judge him clean that has the plague; he is clean.

And the flesh, if there is an ulcer in it, in its skin, and it is healed,

and in the place of the ulcer there be a white lump, or a white reddening pustule, and it be shown to the priest;

and the priest shall see it, and behold, if its appearance is lower than the skin, and its hair be turned white, then the priest shall judge him unclean; it is a plague of leprosy flourishing in the ulcer.

But if the priest see it, and, behold, there be no white hairs in it, and it be no lower than the skin, but it be dim; then the priest shall shut him up seven days;

and if spreading it shall spread in the skin, then the priest shall judge him unclean; it is a plague.

But if instead of it, the pustule stand still, and spread not, it is a burning ulcer; and the priest shall judge him clean.

Or if there be any flesh in the skin of which there is a welt from a fire, and the living welt be a white pustule, reddening or white;

then the priest shall see it; and, behold, if the hair in the pustule be turned white, and its appearance be deeper than the skin; it is leprosy flourishing from the welt: and the priest shall judge him unclean; it is the plague of leprosy.

But if the priest see it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the pustule, and it be no lower than the skin, but it be dim; then the priest shall shut him up seven days;

and the priest shall see him the seventh day; and if spreading it shall spread in the skin, then the priest shall judge him unclean; it is the plague of leprosy.

And if instead of it the pustule stand, and spread not in the skin, but it be dim; it is a lump of the welt, and the priest shall judge him clean; for it is a burn of the welt.

And if a man or woman have a plague on the head or in the beard;

then the priest shall see the plague; and, behold, if its appearance be deeper than the skin; and there be in it a thin yellow hair; then its` priest shall judge him unclean; it is scall, it is a leprosy of the head or the beard.

And if the priest see the plague of the scall, and, behold, its appearance be not deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it; then the priest shall shut up him that has the plague of the scall seven days;

and on the seventh day the priest shall see the plague; and, behold, if the scall spread not, and there be not in it yellow hair, and the appearance of the scall be not deeper than the skin,

then he shall shave himself, but the scall shall he not shave; and the priest shall shut up him who has the scall a second seven days;

and on the seventh day the priest shall see the scall; and, behold, if the scall be· not ·spread in the skin, and its appearance be not deeper than the skin; then the priest shall judge him clean: and he shall wash his garments, and be··clean.

But if the scall spreading shall spread in the skin after his cleansing;

then the priest shall see him; and, behold, if the scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek··out for the yellow hair; he is unclean.

But if the scall stand still in his eyes, and there is black hair grown in it; the scall is healed, he is clean; and the priest shall judge him clean.

And if a man or a woman have in the skin of their flesh pustules, even white pustules;

and the priest shall see; and, behold, if the pustules on the skin of their flesh are a dim white; it is a pimple that flourishes in the skin; he is clean.

And the man, because he plucked the hair off his head, he is bald; he is clean.

And if he has plucked the hair off his head from the corner of his face, he has a bald··brow; he is clean.

And if there be on the balding head, or on the bald··brow, a white reddening plague; it is a leprosy flourishing on his balding head, or on his bald··brow.

And the priest shall see it; and, behold, if the lump of the plague be white and reddening on his balding head, or on his bald··brow, as the appearance of leprosy of the skin of the flesh;

he is a leprous man, he is unclean; since he is unclean, the priest shall judge* him unclean; his plague is on his head.

And the leper in whom is the plague, his garments shall be unstitched, and his head shall be exposed, and he shall cloak over the upper··lip, and shall call out, Unclean, Unclean.

All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be··unclean; he is unclean; he shall dwell alone; outside the camp shall be his dwelling.

And the garment in which is the plague of leprosy, either in a garment of wool or in a garment of flax;

or in the warp, or in the woof; of flax and of wool, or in leather, or in any work* of leather;

and the plague be greenish yellow or reddening in the garment, or in the leather, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in any vessel of leather, it is a plague of leprosy, and shall be shown to the priest.

And the priest shall see the plague, and shut up that which has the plague seven days;

and he shall see the plague on the seventh day; if the plague be spread in the garment, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in the leather, for any use that is made of leather; the plague is a pricking leprosy; it is unclean.

And he shall burn··up the garment, or the warp or the woof, in wool or in flax, or any vessel of leather, in which the plague is; for it is a pricking leprosy; it shall be burnt··up in the fire.

And if the priest shall see, and, behold, the plague be· not ·spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any vessel of leather;

then the priest shall command, and they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he shall shut it up a second seven days;

and the priest shall see the plague, after it is washed; and, behold, if the plague have not turned its aspect, and the plague be not spread, it is unclean; thou shalt burn· it ·up in the fire; it is pitting on his balding head or on his bald··brow.

And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be dim after the washing of it; then he shall rend it out··of the garment, or out··of the skin, or out··of the warp, or out··of the woof;

and if it still be seen in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in any vessel of leather; it is flourishing; thou shalt burn··up that wherein the plague is in the fire.

And the garment, either the warp, or the woof, or any vessel of leather it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be removed from them, then it shall be washed a second time, and shall be··clean.

This is the law of the plague of leprosy of a garment of the wool or of the flax, either of the warp, or of the woof, or any vessel of leather, to judge it clean, or to judge it unclean.
