47 to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.

Verse 47. And these are the laws of Divine Order concerning natural affections of the will and understanding and concerning sensual and corporeal affections, for the purpose of making a distinction between what is impure and pure, and between what may be appropriated and what may not be appropriated.
