Ezekiel 3

Estude

And He said to me, Son of man, eat what thou findest; eat this scroll, and go speak to the house of Israel.

And I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat this scroll.

And He said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this scroll that I give unto thee. And I did eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

And He said to me, Son of man, go, come into the house of Israel, and speak My words to them.

For thou art not sent to a people of a deep lip and of a heavy tongue*, but to the house of Israel;

not to many peoples of a deep lip and of a heavy tongue, whose words thou shalt not hear. If I had sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

But the house of Israel is· not ·willing to hearken to thee, for they are· not ·willing to hearken to Me; for all the house of Israel are firm of forehead, and hard of heart are they.

Behold, I have put thy faces firm against their faces, and thy forehead firm against their foreheads.

As an adamant firmer than rock have I put thy forehead; fear them not, neither be··dismayed at their faces, though they be a rebellious house.

And He said to me, Son of man, all My words that I shall speak to thee take into thy heart, and hear with thine ears.

And go, come to the exiled, to the sons of thy people, and speak to them, and say to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, Thus says the Lord Jehovih*.

And the spirit took· me ·up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great quaking, saying, Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from His place.

I heard also the voice of the wings of the living things that kissed one another*, and the voice of the wheels alongside them, and a voice of a great quaking.

And the spirit carried me, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the fury of my spirit; but the hand of Jehovah was··firm on me.

And I came to the exiled at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and I sat there seven days astonished in their midst.

And it was from the end of seven days, that the word of Jehovah was to me, saying,

Son of man, I have given thee as a watchman for the house of Israel; and thou shalt hear the word from My mouth, and warn them from Me.

When I say to the wicked, Dying thou shalt die; and thou warnest him not, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to let· him ·live; he, the wicked one, shall··die in his iniquity; but his blood I shall seek from thy hand.

And when thou warn the wicked, and he turn· not ·back from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall··die in his iniquity; but thou hast rescued thy soul.

And when a just man turns··back from his justice, and does perversity, and I put a stumblingblock before him, he shall die; for thou hast not warned him; in his sin he shall··die, and his justice which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I seek from thy hand.

But if thou warn the just man, so··that the just man sin not, and he sins not, living he shall live, for he is warned; and thou hast rescued thy soul.

And the hand of Jehovah was on me there; and He said unto me, Arise, go··out to the vale, and there I shall speak with thee.

And I arose, and went··out to the vale; and, behold, there the glory of Jehovah was standing, as the glory which I saw by the River Chebar; and I fell on my face.

And the spirit came into me, and stood me upon my feet, and spoke with me, and said unto me, Go··in, shut thyself in the midst of thy house.

And thou, son of man, behold, they shall put ropes on thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go··out in their midst:

and I will make thy tongue stick to thy palate, and thou shalt be··dumb, and shalt not be to them as a man who reproves; for they are a rebellious house.

But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus says the Lord Jehovih; He who hears, let him hear; and he who forbears, let him forbear; for they are a rebellious house.
