Kings 7

Estude

And Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he completed all his house.

And he built the House of the Forest of Lebanon; a hundred cubits its length, and fifty cubits its breadth, and thirty cubits its height, upon four rows of cedar pillars and cut· cedar ·beams upon the pillars.

And it was paneled above with cedar over the ribs that were on the forty five pillars, fifteen to the row.

And there were places for looking··out in three rows; and a window to a window three times.

And all the entrances and doorposts were foursquare looking··out; and there was a window opposite to a window three times.

And he made the porch of pillars; fifty cubits its length, and thirty cubits its breadth, and there was a porch before them, and pillars and a thick··plank before them.

And he made the porch of the throne where he judged, the porch of judgment, and he paneled it with cedar from the floor to the floor*.

And his house where he dwelt had another court inside the porch which was like this work. And he made a house for the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Solomon had taken, like this porch.

All these were of costly stones, hewn according··to measure, sawed with saws inside and outside, and from the foundation even··to the hand··breadth, and from the outside to the great court.

And the foundation was of costly stones, great stones, stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits.

And from above were costly stones, hewn according··to measure, and cedar.

And the great court all around had three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cut· cedar ·beams, both for the inner court of the house of Jehovah and for the porch of the house.

And King Solomon sent and fetched Hiram* out of Tyre.

He was the son of a widow woman from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a craftsman in bronze; and he was··filled with wisdom and understanding and knowledge to do every work* in bronze. And he came to King Solomon and did all his work.

And he formed the two pillars of bronze, eighteen cubits the stature of the one pillar, and a thread of twelve cubits surrounded the second pillar.

And he made two capitals to put on the heads of the pillars, of poured bronze; five cubits was the height of the one capital, and five cubits the height of the second capital.

Nettings made of netting, tassels made of chains for the capitals which were on the head of the pillars; seven for the one capital and seven for the second capital.

And he made the pillars, and there were two rows all around on the one netting, to cover the capitals, that were on the head of the pomegranates; and so he did for the second capital.

And the capitals which were on the head of the pillars in the porch were made like the lily, four cubits.

And there were capitals also on the two pillars above, alongside the belly which was across the netting, and the pomegranates were two hundred, in rows all around on the second capital.

And he raised the pillars of the porch of the temple; and he raised the right pillar and called its name Jachin; and he raised the left pillar, and called its name Boaz.

And on the head of the pillars it was made like the lily, and the work of the pillars was finished.

And he made the cast sea, ten cubits from its lip to its lip; round all around; and five cubits its height; and a line of thirty cubits surrounded it all around.

And beneath its lip surrounding it all around were gourds, ten in the cubit, encircling the sea all around; the gourds were in two rows, cast when it was cast.

It stood upon twelve cattle, three facing toward the north, and three facing toward the sea, and three facing toward the south, and three facing toward the sunrise; and the sea was upon them above, and all their back parts were inward.

And its thickness was a hand··breadth; and its lip was made as the lip of a cup, with the blossom of the lily; it contained two··thousand baths.

And he made ten bases of bronze; four cubits the length of the one base, and four cubits its breadth; and three cubits its height.

And this was the making of the base; they had enclosures, and the enclosures were between the connections;

and on the enclosures, which were between the connections, were lions, cattle and cherubim; and on the connections there was a base from above; and beneath the lions and the cattle were joinings, made going··down.

And there were four wheels of bronze for one base, and platforms of bronze; and its four corners had shoulders to them; beneath the laver were the shoulders, cast from across each of the joinings.

And the mouth of it inside the capital, and above it was a cubit; and the mouth of it was round, the work of a base, a cubit and half a cubit; and also on the mouth of it were carvings; and their enclosures were foursquare not round.

And the four wheels were beneath the enclosures, and the hands* of the wheels were in the base; and the height of the one wheel was a cubit and a half a cubit.

And the making of the wheels was as the making of a chariot wheel; their hands, and their rims, and their collars, and their spokes were all cast.

And there were four shoulders to the four corners of the one base, from the base of its shoulders.

And in the head of the base, half a cubit in height, it was round all around, and on the head of the base were its hands, and its enclosures were from it.

And he engraved on the tablets of its hands and upon its enclosures, cherubim, lions and palm··trees, according to the bare space* of each and the joinings all around.

According··to this manner he made the ten bases; all of them had one casting, one measure, one proportion.

And he made ten lavers of bronze; each laver contained forty baths; each laver was four cubits; each laver was on one base, for the ten bases.

And he put the bases, five on the right shoulder of the house, and five on the left shoulder of the house, and he put the sea on the right shoulder of the house, toward the east next··to the south.

And Hiram made the lavers and the shovels, and the basins. And Hiram completed making all the work* that he made for King Solomon, for the house of Jehovah.

The two pillars and the vases of the capitals which were on the heads of the two pillars; and the two nettings to cover the two vases of the capitals that were on the head of the pillars.

And the four hundred pomegranates for the two nettings; two rows of pomegranates for the one netting, to cover the two vases of the capitals, that were on the faces of the pillars.

And the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;

and the one sea, and the twelve cattle under the sea;

and the pots and the shovels, and the basins; and all these vessels which Hiram made for King Solomon for the house of Jehovah were of furbished bronze.

In the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the thickness of the ground between Succoth and Zarethan.

And Solomon let· all the vessels ·stay for there were very very many, the weight of the bronze was not searched··out.

And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Jehovah; the altar of gold, and the table on which was the bread of faces, of gold;

and the lampstands, five on the right and five on the left, before the oracle, were of gold closed··in. And the blossoms and the lamps and the tongs were of gold.

And the bowls, and the snippers, and the basins, and the spoons, and the censer of closed gold; and the sockets for the doors of the inner house, for the holy of holies, for the doors of the house, for the temple, of gold.

And all the work* that King Solomon made for the house of Jehovah was··at··peace. And King Solomon brought··in the holy things of David his father; the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, he put in the treasures of the house of Jehovah.
