1 以色列忘恩負義“以色列年幼的時候,我就他。我從埃及召我的兒子出來。

2 可是我越發呼喚他們,他們越發走開;他們給巴力獻祭,向偶像燒香。

3 然而是我教導以法蓮走路的;我用雙抱他們,他們卻不知道是我醫治了他們。

4 我用慈愛索牽引他們,我待他們像人拉高牛的軛在兩之上,又向他們俯身,餵養他們。

5 必遭重罰“他們必返回埃及地,亞述要作他們的;因為他們不肯回來歸我。

6 必在他們的城中飛舞,毀壞他們的門閂,因著他們自己的計謀,吞滅他們。

7 我的子民決要背道離開我,他們因著所負的軛而呼求,卻沒有人給他們卸下。

8 神再施憐愛“以法蓮啊,我怎能捨棄你!以色列啊,我怎能把你交出來!我怎能對你如同押瑪,待你好像洗扁呢!我的腸翻,我的憐憫發動。

9 我必不讓我的烈怒發作,必不再毀滅以法蓮;因為我是神,不是世;我是你們中間的聖者,必不會含怒而

10 他們必跟隨耶和華耶和華要像獅子吼叫;他一吼叫,他們就從西方戰戰兢兢而來。

11 他們必戰戰兢兢而來,像從埃及趕來的飛,如從亞述地趕來的鴿子,我要使他們在自己的房子裡。這是耶和華的。

12 以法蓮用虛謊,以色列家用詭詐包圍著我;猶大還是與神對抗,就是對抗那可信可靠的至聖者。(本節在《馬索拉抄本》為12:1)
