Deuteronomy 15

Studija

1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

2 And this is the word of the release; Every citizen of the loaning of his hand who loans to his companion shall release it; he shall not exact of his companion, or of his brother; for it is called the release to Jehovah.

3 Of the foreigner thou mayest exact; but that which thou hast with thy brother thy hand shall release;

4 To the end that there shall be no needy among you; for, blessing, Jehovah shall bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee for an inheritance to possess;

5 only if obeying thou obey the voice of Jehovah thy God, to take··heed to do all these commandments which I command thee today.

6 For Jehovah thy God blesses thee, as He spoke to thee; and thou shalt lend··for··a··pledge from many nations, but thou shalt not pledge thyself; and thou shalt rule many nations, but they shall not rule thee.

7 If there be among thee someone needy from one of thy brothers within any one of thy gates in thy land which Jehovah thy God gives thee, thou shalt not make thy heart obstinate, nor shut··tightly thy hand from thy needy brother;

8 for opening thou shalt open thy hand to him, and lending··for··a··pledge thou shalt lend··for··a··pledge to him, enough for his want, in that which he has want.

9 Take··heed to thyself lest there be a word within thy heart of Belial, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is··near; and thine eye be··evil against thy needy brother, and thou dost not give him anything; and he call to Jehovah against thee, and it be sin in thee.

10 Giving thou shalt give him, and thy heart shall not be··evil when thou givest to him; for because··of this thing Jehovah thy God shall bless thee in all thy deeds, and in all that thou puttest··forth thy hand.

11 For the needy shall not stop from being among the land; therefore I command thee, saying, Opening thou shalt open thy hand to thy brother, to thine afflicted, and to thy needy, in thy land.

12 And if thy brother, a Hebrew··man, or Hebrew··woman, be sold to thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt send him free from thee.

13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not send· him ·out empty;

14 furnishing thou shalt furnish him out of thy flock, and out of thy threshing··floor, and out of thy winepress; of that wherewith Jehovah thy God has blessed thee thou shalt give to him.

15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah thy God redeemed thee; therefore I command thee this word today.

16 And it shall be, when he say to thee, I will not go··out from thee, for he loves thee and thy house, for it is good for him with thee,

17 then thou shalt take an awl, and put it through his ear and into the door, and he shall be for thee an eternal servant. And also to thy maidservant thou shalt do so.

18 It shall not be··hard in thine eyes, when thou sendest him free from thee; for twice the wage of a hireling he has served thee six years; and Jehovah thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

19 All the firstborn that are··born in thy herd and in thy flock of the males thou shalt sanctify to Jehovah thy God; thou shalt not do··service with the firstborn of thine ox, nor shear the firstborn of thy flock.

20 Thou shalt eat it before Jehovah thy God year by year in the place which Jehovah shall choose, thou and thy house.

21 And if there be any blemish in it, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any bad blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it to Jehovah thy God.

22 Thou shalt eat it within thy gates; the unclean and the clean together, as the roebuck, and as the stag.

23 Only its blood thou shalt not eat; thou shalt spill it on the earth as water.

Isaiah 58

Studija

1 Call with the throat, keep· not ·back; lift··up thy voice as a shophar*, and tell to My people their transgressions; and to the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Yet day by day they inquire after Me, and in the knowledge of My ways they delight, as a nation that has done justice, and has not forsaken the judgment of their God, that they might ask of Me the judgments of justice; they delight in approaching to God.

3 They say, Why have we fasted, and Thou seest not? Have we afflicted our soul, and Thou dost not know? Behold, in the day of your fasting, you find your delight; and you exact all of your grievances.

4 Behold, you fast for strife and a quarrel, and to smite with the fist of wickedness; do not fast as you do today, to make your voice to be heard on high.

5 Is this, then, the fast which I choose? a day for man to afflict his soul? Is it that he should bow··low his head like a pond··rush, and make··a··mat in sackcloth and ashes? Wilt thou call this a fast, a day of good··pleasure to Jehovah?

6 Is not this the fast which I choose, to loose the bands of wickedness, to unbind the bunches of the brace of the yoke, to send··out the fractured as free, and that you pull··off every brace?

7 Is it not to divide thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring· the afflicted and dominated ·into the house? When thou seest the naked, then thou coverest him, and hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth like the dawn, and thy health shall grow hastily; and thy justice shall go before thee; the glory of Jehovah shall gather thee.

9 Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah shall answer; thou shalt cry··out, and He shall say, Behold Me! If thou remove from the midst of thee the brace, the pointing of the finger, and the speaking of iniquity;

10 and if thy soul supply to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thy thick··darkness shall be as noon;

11 and Jehovah shall lead thee continually, and shall satisfy thy soul in parched places; and He shall set· thy bones ·free; and thou shalt be as a well soaked garden, and as an outgoing of water, whose waters tell· not ·a··lie.

12 And they shall build from thee the wastes of an age; thou shalt raise··up the foundations of generations and generations; and thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell··in

13 If thou turn· thy foot ·back from the Sabbath, from doing thine own will on the day of My holiness; and shalt call the Sabbath an honorable delight to the Holy··One of Jehovah, and shalt honor it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own will, nor speaking a word;

14 then shalt thou delight thyself in Jehovah; and I will cause thee to ride on the high··places of the earth, and I will cause thee to eat with the heritage of Jacob thy father; for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.
