1
To the victor, al-tashcheth*; a michtam* of◦ David, when he ran··away from the face of Saul into the cave.
2 Be··gracious··to me, O God, be··gracious··to me;
for in Thee my soul confides;
and in the shadow of Thy wings will I have··confidence,
until calamities be passed.
2
3 I will call to God Most··High,
to God◦ who brings· it ·to··an··end for▵ me;
3
4 He will send from the heavens and save me when he who would gulp· me ·down reproaches me. Selah.
God will send His mercy and His truth.
4
5 As to my soul, I lie in the midst of old··lions;
the sons of man are inflamed◦,
their teeth are spear and arrows,
and their tongue a sharp◦ sword.
5
6 Be Thou exalted above the heavens, O God;
above all the earth, Thy glory.
6
7 They have prepared a net for my footsteps;
my soul bows··low;
they have dug··out a ditch before me;
they are fallen into the midst of it. Selah.
7
8 My heart is prepared, O God, my heart is prepared;
I will sing, and I will sing··psalms.
8
9 Stir··up, my glory,
Stir··up, the psaltery and harp;
I will stir··up the dawn.
9
10 I will confess Thee among◦ the peoples, O Lord;
I will sing··psalms to Thee among◦ the nations◦.
10
11 For great even··to the heavens is Thy mercy,
and even··to ethers, Thy truth.
11
12 Be Thou exalted above the heavens, O God;
above all the earth, Thy glory.
