¹ แล้วท่านก็นำข้าพเจ้ากลับมาตามทางของประตูของสถานบริสุทธิ์ห้องนอก ซึ่งหันหน้าไปทางตะวันออก และประตูนั้นปิดอยู่

² พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "ประตูนี้จะปิดอยู่เรื่อยไป อย่าให้เปิดและไม่ให้ใครเข้าไปทางนี้ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลได้เสด็จเข้าไปทางนี้ เพราะฉะนั้นจึงให้ปิดไว้

³ เฉพาะเจ้านายเท่านั้น คือเจ้านาย ท่านจะประทับเสวยพระกระยาหารต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ในประตูนี้ได้ ท่านจะต้องเข้ามาทางมุขของหอประตูและต้องออกไปตามทางเดียวกัน"

⁴ แล้วท่านก็นำข้าพเจ้ามาตามทางของประตูเหนือมาที่ข้างหน้าพระนิเวศ และข้าพเจ้ามองดู และดูเถิด สง่าราศีของพระเยโฮวาห์ก็เต็มพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และข้าพเจ้าก็ซบหน้าลงถึงดิน

⁵ และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงตั้งใจให้ดี ทุกสิ่งที่เราจะบอกเจ้าเกี่ยวกับกฎทั้งสิ้นของพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และราชบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นของพระนิเวศนั้น จงดูด้วยตาของเจ้า และฟังด้วยหูของเจ้า และจดจำเรื่องทางเข้าพระนิเวศและทางออกจากสถานบริสุทธิ์ให้ดี

⁶ แล้วจงบอกแก่วงศ์วานที่มักกบฏ คือวงศ์วานอิสราเอลว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า โอ วงศ์วานอิสราเอลเอ๋ย ขอให้การที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งสิ้นของเจ้าสิ้นสุดเสียทีเถิด

⁷ คือการที่เจ้าพาคนต่างด้าวที่มิได้เข้าสุหนัตทางจิตใจและเนื้อหนังเข้ามาในสถานบริสุทธิ์ของเรา กระทำให้สถานนั้น คือพระนิเวศของเรามัวหมอง เมื่อเจ้าถวายอาหารของเราแก่เรา คือไขมันและเลือด สิ่งเหล่านี้ได้ทำลายพันธสัญญาของเราด้วยการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งสิ้นของเจ้า

⁸ และเจ้ามิได้ดูแลรักษาสิ่งบริสุทธิ์ของเรา แต่เจ้าได้ตั้งคนเฝ้าให้ดูแลรักษาอยู่ในสถานบริสุทธิ์ของเรา เพื่อประโยชน์แก่ตัวเจ้าเอง

⁹ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าจึงตรัสดังนี้ว่า อย่าให้คนต่างด้าว ที่มิได้เข้าสุหนัตทางจิตใจคนและเนื้อหนังคือชนต่างด้าวทั้งสิ้นที่อยู่ท่ามกลางชนชาติอิสราเอลเข้าไปในสถานบริสุทธิ์ของเรา

¹⁰ แต่คนเลวีผู้ที่ได้ไปไกลจากเรา หลงไปจากเราไปติดตามรูปเคารพของเขาเมื่อคนอิสราเอลหลงไปนั้น จะต้องได้รับโทษความชั่วช้าของตน

¹¹ เขาทั้งหลายจะต้องปรนนิบัติอยู่ในสถานบริสุทธิ์ของเรา ตรวจตราดูอยู่ที่ประตูพระนิเวศ และปฏิบัติอยู่ในพระนิเวศ เขาจะฆ่าเครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องสัตวบูชาให้ประชาชน และเขาจะต้องคอยเฝ้าประชาชน เพื่อจะรับใช้เขาทั้งหลาย

¹² เพราะเขาทั้งหลายได้ปรนนิบัติประชาชนอยู่หน้ารูปเคารพของเขา จึงทำให้วงศ์วานอิสราเอลตกอยู่ในความชั่วช้า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เพราะฉะนั้นเราจึงได้ปฏิญาณด้วยเรื่องเขาทั้งหลายว่า เขาทั้งหลายจะต้องได้รับโทษความชั่วช้าของเขา

¹³ อย่าให้เขาทั้งหลายเข้ามาใกล้เรา เพื่อจะรับใช้เราในตำแหน่งปุโรหิต หรือเข้ามาใกล้สิ่งบริสุทธิ์ใดๆของเราในที่บริสุทธิ์ที่สุดนั้น แต่เขาต้องทนรับความอับอายขายหน้า และการอันน่าสะอิดสะเอียนทั้งหลายซึ่งเขาได้กระทำนั้น

¹⁴ แต่ถึงกระนั้นเราจะกำหนดให้เขาเป็นผู้ดูแลพระนิเวศ ให้กระทำบริการทั้งสิ้นและกระทำสิ่งที่ต้องกระทำในพระนิเวศนั้นทั้งสิ้น

¹⁵ แต่ปุโรหิตคนเลวี บรรดาบุตรชายของศาโดก ผู้ยังดูแลสถานบริสุทธิ์ของเรา เมื่อคนอิสราเอลหลงไปจากเรานั้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า ให้เขาเข้ามาใกล้เราเพื่อปรนนิบัติเรา และให้คอยรับใช้เรา ที่จะถวายไขมันและเลือด

¹⁶ เขาจะเข้ามาในสถานบริสุทธิ์ของเราได้ และให้เขาเข้ามาใกล้โต๊ะของเราเพื่อจะปรนนิบัติเรา และให้เขารักษาคำกำชับของเรา

¹⁷ ต่อมาเมื่อเขาเข้าประตูลานชั้นในนั้น ให้เขาสวมเสื้อผ้าป่าน อย่าให้เขามีสิ่งใดที่ทำด้วยขนแกะเลยขณะเมื่อเขาทำการปรนนิบัติอยู่ที่ประตูลานชั้นใน และอยู่ข้างใน

¹⁸ ให้เขาสวมมาลาป่านไว้เหนือศีรษะ และสวมกางเกงผ้าป่านเพียงเอว อย่าให้เขาคาดตัวด้วยสิ่งใดที่ให้มีเหงื่อ

¹⁹ และเมื่อเขาออกไปยังลานนอก คือไปยังลานนอกเพื่อไปหาประชาชน ให้เขาเปลื้องเสื้อผ้าชุดที่ปรนนิบัติงานนั้นออกเสีย และวางไว้เสียในห้องบริสุทธิ์ แล้วจึงสวมเสื้อผ้าอื่น เกรงว่าเขาจะนำความบริสุทธิ์ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ไปติดต่อกับประชาชนด้วยเสื้อผ้าของเขา

²⁰ อย่าให้เขาโกนศีรษะหรือปล่อยให้มวยผมยาว ให้เขาเพียงแต่ขลิบผมบนศีรษะของเขาเท่านั้น

²¹ เมื่อปุโรหิตเข้าไปในลานชั้นในจะดื่มเหล้าองุ่นไม่ได้

²² อย่าให้ปุโรหิตแต่งงานกับหญิงม่ายหรือหญิงที่ถูกหย่าแล้ว แต่ให้แต่งงานกับหญิงพรหมจารีจากเชื้อสายแห่งวงศ์วานอิสราเอล หรือหญิงม่ายซึ่งเป็นหญิงม่ายของปุโรหิต

²³ เขาทั้งหลายจะต้องสั่งสอนประชาชนของเราถึงความแตกต่างระหว่างของบริสุทธิ์และของสามัญ และกระทำให้เขาสังเกตแยกแยะระหว่างของมลทินกับของสะอาดได้

²⁴ ถ้ามีคดี เขาจะต้องกระทำหน้าที่ผู้พิพากษา และเขาจะต้องพิพากษาตามคำตัดสินของเรา ในบรรดางานเทศกาลตามกำหนดของเรานั้นเขาจะต้องรักษาราชบัญญัติและกฎเกณฑ์ของเรา และเขาจะต้องรักษาวันสะบาโตทั้งหลายของเราให้บริสุทธิ์

²⁵ อย่าให้เขากระทำตัวให้เป็นมลทินด้วยเข้าไปใกล้ผู้ตาย เว้นแต่เป็นบิดาหรือมารดาหรือบุตรชายหรือบุตรสาว หรือพี่น้องผู้ชายหรือพี่น้องผู้หญิงที่ไม่มีสามี ก็จะกระทำตัวให้เป็นมลทินได้

²⁶ หลังจากที่เขารับการชำระแล้ว มีกำหนดอีกเจ็ดวัน

²⁷ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า ในวันที่เขาเข้าไปในสถานบริสุทธิ์ คือที่ลานชั้นในเพื่อจะปรนนิบัติอยู่ในสถานบริสุทธิ์ เขาจะต้องถวายเครื่องบูชาไถ่บาปเสียก่อน

²⁸ นั่นจะเป็นมรดกของเขา เราเป็นมรดกของเขา และเจ้าจะไม่ต้องให้เขาถือกรรมสิทธิ์ใดๆในอิสราเอล เราเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์ของเขา

²⁹ ให้เขารับประทานเครื่องธัญญบูชา เครื่องบูชาไถ่บาป และเครื่องบูชาไถ่การละเมิด และทุกสิ่งที่ถวายไว้ในอิสราเอลจะเป็นของเขาทั้งหลาย

³⁰ และผลไม้ดีที่สุดของผลไม้รุ่นแรกทุกชนิดและของถวายทุกชนิดจากเครื่องถวายบูชาทั้งสิ้นของเจ้าจะเป็นของบรรดาปุโรหิตทั้งหลาย เจ้าจงมอบแป้งเปียกผลแรกของเจ้าให้แก่ปุโรหิต เพื่อว่าพระพรจะมีอยู่เหนือครัวเรือนของเจ้า

³¹ ปุโรหิตจะต้องไม่รับประทานสิ่งใดๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นนกหรือสัตว์ที่ตายเองหรือถูกฉีกกัดตาย"

⁹ "เมื่อตัวเจ้าหรือบุตรชายของเจ้าจะเข้าไปในพลับพลาแห่งชุมนุม อย่าดื่มเหล้าองุ่นหรือสุราเกลือกว่าเจ้าจะต้องตาย ทั้งนี้ให้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ถาวรอยู่ตลอดชั่วอายุของเจ้า

¹ And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.

² And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba, or sheba, and Moladah,

³ And Hazar-shual, and Balah, and Azem,

⁴ And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,

⁵ And Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah,

⁶ And Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:

⁷ Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:

⁸ And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.

⁹ Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

¹⁰ And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:

¹¹ And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;

¹² And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chisloth-tabor, and then goeth out to daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,

¹³ And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah-hepher, to Ittah-kazin, and goeth out to Remmon-methoar to Neah;

¹⁴ And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthah-el:

¹⁵ And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.

¹⁶ This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

¹⁷ And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.

¹⁸ And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,

¹⁹ And Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath,

²⁰ And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez,

²¹ And Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez;

²² And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.

²³ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

²⁴ And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.

²⁵ And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,

²⁶ And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihor-libnath;

²⁷ And turneth toward the sunrising to Beth-dagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthah-el toward the north side of Beth-emek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand,

²⁸ And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;

²⁹ And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:

³⁰ Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages.

³¹ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

³² The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families.

³³ And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:

³⁴ And then the coast turneth westward to Aznoth-tabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.

³⁵ And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,

³⁶ And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,

³⁷ And Kedesh, and Edrei, and En-hazor,

³⁸ And Iron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.

³⁹ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

⁴⁰ And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.

⁴¹ And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh,

⁴² And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,

⁴³ And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,

⁴⁴ And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,

⁴⁵ And Jehud, and Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon,

⁴⁶ And Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.

⁴⁷ And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

⁴⁸ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

⁴⁹ When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

⁵⁰ According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnath-serah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

⁵¹ These are the inheritances which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
