1
To the victor, upon shoshannim*; for the sons of Korah, a maskil*; a song of loves*.
2 My heart runs··over◦ with a good word; I◦ am saying that which I have made for the King:
my tongue is the pen of a hastening scribe.
2
3 Thou art· more ·beautiful than the sons of man; grace is poured into Thy lips;
therefore God has blessed Thee to eternity.
3
4 Gird Thy sword on the thigh, O Hero!
in* Thy majesty and Thine honor.
4
5 And in* Thine honor prosper, ride on the word of truth, and of the meekness of justice;
and Thy right··hand will instruct Thee in fearful things.
5
6 Thine arrows are sharpened; peoples fall under Thee,
who in heart are enemies of the King.
6
7 Thy throne, O God, is eternal and forever;
a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom.
7
8 Thou lovest justice and hatest wickedness;
therefore God, Thy God, has anointed Thee with the oil of joy above◦ Thy friends,
8
9 with myrrh and aloes and cassia, all Thy garments;
from the palaces◦* of ivory they make· Thee ·glad with stringed··instruments.
9
10 Daughters of kings are among◦ Thy precious ones;
to Thy right··hand the queen◦ stands··up in the best··gold of Ophir.
10
11 Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline thine ear;
and forget thy people, and thy father’s house;
11
12 and the King will long··for thy beauty;
for He◦ is thy Lord; and* bow··down to Him.
12
13 And the daughter of Tyre shall bring* a gift··offering;
The rich of the people shall implore thy faces.
13
14 All glorious within▵ is the daughter of the King;
inwrought with gold is her clothing.
14
15 In embroideries is she brought◦ to the King;
the virgins after her, her companions, are brought··in to Thee.
15
16 They are brought◦ with gladness and rejoicing.
They come into the palace◦* of the King.
16
17 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons;
Thou wilt set◦ them for princes in all the land.
17
18 I will make Thy name to be remembered in every generation and generation;
therefore the peoples will confess Thee to eternity and forever.
