Zechariah 1

Სწავლა

In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Jehovah was to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

Jehovah has been··enraged with rage against your fathers.

And thou shalt say to them, Thus says Jehovah of Armies: Return ye to Me, says Jehovah of Armies, and I will Return to you, says Jehovah of Armies.

Be ye not as your fathers, to whom the first prophets have called, saying, Thus says Jehovah of Armies: Return ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil actions; but they did not hear, nor attend to Me, says Jehovah.

Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live for eternity?

Surely My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they returned and said, Like as Jehovah of Armies purposed to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our actions, so He has done with us.

On the twentieth and fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of Jehovah was to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

I saw by the night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and this was standing between the myrtle trees which were in the shadow; and behind him were horses, red, speckled, and white.

And I said, What are these, my lord? And the angel speaking with me said to me, I will show thee what these are.

And the man standing between the myrtle trees answered, and he said, These are the ones that Jehovah has sent to walk··forth on the earth.

And they answered the angel of Jehovah standing between the myrtle trees, and they said, We have walked··forth on the earth, and, behold, all the earth is sitting still, and is quiet.

And the angel of Jehovah answered and said, O Jehovah of Armies, how long wilt Thou not have··compassion on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which Thou hast had··indignation these seventy years?

And Jehovah answered the angel that spoke with me good words and comforting words.

And the angel speaking with me said to me, Proclaim, saying, Thus says Jehovah of Armies: I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great zeal.

And with great rage I am··enraged against the nations who are at··ease with which I was· but a··little ·enraged, but they gave help to the evil.

Therefore thus says Jehovah: I have returned to Jerusalem with compassions; My house shall be built in it, says Jehovah of Armies, and a line shall be stretched··out upon Jerusalem.

Proclaim still, saying, Thus says Jehovah of Armies: My cities from good shall still be spread··abroad, and Jehovah shall still comfort Zion, and shall still choose Jerusalem.

2:1 Then lifted· I ·up my eyes, and saw, and behold, four horns.

2:2 And I said to the angel who spoke with me, What are these? And He said to me, These are the horns which have dispersed Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

2:3 And Jehovah showed me four craftsmen.

2:4 And I said, What are these coming to do? And He said, saying, These are the horns which have dispersed Judah, so that a man lifts not his head. But these have come to frighten them, to cast··down the horns of the nations lifting the horn against the land of Judah to disperse her.
