2 Kings 12

勉強

1 2 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash was··king; and forty years he was··king in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Zibiah from Beer-sheba.

2 3 And Jehoash did that which was upright in the eyes of Jehovah all his days, in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

3 4 Only the high··places they did not remove; the people still sacrificed and burned··incense in the high··places.

4 5 And Jehoash said to the priests, All the silver of the holy things that is brought··into the house of Jehovah, the silver which each··man passes, the silver of souls according to his value, all the silver that comes··up on the heart of a man to bring··into the house of Jehovah,

5 6 let the priests take to them, a man from his acquaintance; and they shall repair the cracks of the house, wherever a crack is found.

6 7 And it was, in the year, the twenty and third year of King Jehoash, that the priests had not repaired the cracks of the house.

7 8 And King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest and for the priests and said to them, Wherefore repair ye not the cracks of the house? And now, take not silver from your acquaintances, but give it for the cracks of the house.

8 9 And the priests consented that they should not take silver from the people, and that they themselves should not repair the cracks of the house.

9 10 And Jehoiada the priest took one chest*, and punctured a hole in the lid of it, and put it beside the altar, on the right as a man comes··into the house of Jehovah; and the priests who kept the doorway put there all the silver that was brought··into the house of Jehovah.

10 11 And it was, when they saw that there was much silver in the chest, that the scribe of the king and the great priest went··up, and they bundled and counted the silver found in the house of Jehovah.

11 12 And they gave the silver that was··measured··precisely into the hands of those who did the work*, who were appointed over the house of Jehovah; and they brought· it ·out to the craftsmen in wood and to the builders who did the work on the house of Jehovah,

12 13 and to the masons* and to the hewers of stone, and for buying wood and hewn stone, and to repair the cracks of the house of Jehovah, and for all that went··out for the house to make· it ·firm.

13 14 Only there were not made for the house of Jehovah bowls of silver, snippers, basins, trumpets, any vessel of gold and vessel of silver, from the silver that was brought··into the house of Jehovah.

14 15 For they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired with it the house of Jehovah.

15 16 And they reckoned not with the men on whose hand they gave the silver, to give to those who did the work; for they did it in faithfulness.

16 17 The silver of the guilt offering and the silver of the sin offering was not brought··into the house of Jehovah; it was for the priest.

17 18 Then went··up Hazael king of Syria, and fought against Gath and captured it; and Hazael set his face to go··up against Jerusalem.

18 19 And Jehoash, king of Judah, took all the sanctified things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah his fathers, kings of Judah, had sanctified and his own sanctified things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria, and he went··up from Jerusalem.

19 20 And the remaining words concerning Joash*, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words concerning the days of the kings of Judah?

20 21 And his servants arose and conspired in a conspiracy, and smote Joash at the house of Millo, going··down to Silla.

21 22 And Jozachar, the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David; and Amaziah his son reigned in· his ·stead.
