Ezekiel 28

¹ And there is a wordword of JehovahJehovah unto me, saying:

² `Son of manSon of man, saysay to the leader of TyreTyre: Thus saidsaid the LordLord JehovahJehovah: Because thy heartheart hath been highhigh, And thou dost saysay: A godgod I [am], The habitationhabitation of godgod I have inhabitedinhabited, In the heartheart of the seasseas, And thou [art] man, and not godgod, And thou givestgivest out thy heartheart as the heartheart of godgod,

³ Lo, thou [art] wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from thee.

⁴ By thy wisdomwisdom and by thine understanding Thou hast made for thee wealthwealth, And makest goldgold and silversilver in thy treasuriestreasuries.

⁵ By the abundance of thy wisdomwisdom, Through thy merchandisemerchandise, Thou hast multiplied thy wealthwealth, And highhigh is thy heart through thy wealthwealth.

⁶ Therefore, thus saidsaid the LordLord JehovahJehovah: Because of thy givinggiving out thy heartheart as the heartheart of GodGod,

⁷ Therefore, lo, I am bringingbringing in against thee strangers, The terrible of the nationsterrible of the nations, And they have drawn out their swordsswords Against the beautybeauty of thy wisdomwisdom, And they have pierced thy brightness.

⁸ To destruction they bring thee downdown, Thou diest by the deaths of the wounded, in the heartheart of the seasseas.

⁹ Dost thou really saysay, `I [am] GodGod,' BeforeBefore him who is slaying thee? And thou [art] man, and not GodGod, In the handhand of him who is piercing thee.

¹⁰ The deaths of the uncircumciseduncircumcised thou diest, By the handhand of strangers, for I have spokenspoken, An affirmation of the LordLord JehovahJehovah.'

¹¹ And there is a wordword of JehovahJehovah unto me, saying:

¹² `Son of manSon of man, liftlift up a lamentationlamentation for the king of TyreTyre, And thou hast saidsaid to him: Thus saidsaid the LordLord JehovahJehovah: Thou art sealing up a measurement, FullFull of wisdomwisdom, and perfect in beautybeauty.

¹³ In EdenEden, the garden of Godgarden of God, thou hast been, Every precious stonestone thy coveringcovering, RubyRuby, topaztopaz, and diamonddiamond, berylberyl, onyxonyx, and jasperjasper, SapphireSapphire, emeraldemerald, and carbunclecarbuncle, and goldgold, The workmanship of thy tabretstabrets, and of thy pipespipes, In thee in the day ofday of thy being produced, have been prepared.

¹⁴ Thou [art] an anointed cherubcherub who is covering, And I have set thee in the holyholy mountmount, GodGod thou hast been, In the midstmidst of stonesstones of firefire thou hast walkedwalked up and down.

¹⁵ PerfectPerfect [art] thou in thy waysways, From the day ofday of thy being produced, Till perversityperversity hath been foundfound in thee.

¹⁶ By the abundance of thy merchandisemerchandise They have filledfilled thy midstmidst with violenceviolence, And thou dost sin, And I thrust thee from the mountmount of GodGod, And I destroy thee, O covering cherubcherub, From the midstmidst of the stonesstones of firefire.

¹⁷ HighHigh hath been thy heartheart, because of thy beautybeauty, Thou hast corrupted thy wisdomwisdom because of thy brightness, On the earthearth I have cast thee, BeforeBefore kingskings I have set thee, to looklook on thee,

¹⁸ From the abundance of thy iniquityiniquity, By the perversityperversity of thy traffic, Thou hast polluted thy sanctuaries, And I bring forth firefire from thy midstmidst, It hath devoureddevoured thee, And I make thee become ashesashes on the earthearth, Before the eyeseyes of all beholding thee.

¹⁹ All knowingknowing thee among the peoples Have been astonished at thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not -- to the age.'

²⁰ And there is a wordword of JehovahJehovah unto me, saying,

²¹ `Son of manSon of man, set thy faceface unto Zidon, and prophesy concerning it;

²² and thou hast saidsaid: Thus saidsaid the Lordthe Lord JehovahJehovah: Lo, I [am] against thee, O Zidon, And I have been honouredhonoured in thy midstmidst, And they have knownknown that I [am] JehovahJehovah, In My doing in her judgments, And I have been sanctifiedsanctified in her.

²³ And I have sentsent into her pestilencepestilence, And bloodblood into her out-places, The wounded hath been judged in her midstmidst, By the swordsword upon her round aboutround about, And they have knownknown that I [am] JehovahJehovah.

²⁴ And there is no more to the househouse of IsraelIsrael A pricking brier, and paining thorn, Of all round aboutround about them -- despising them, And they have knownknown that I [am] the LordLord JehovahJehovah.

²⁵ Thus saidsaid the LordLord JehovahJehovah: In My gathering the househouse of IsraelIsrael, Out of the peoplespeoples among whom they were scatteredscattered, I have been sanctifiedsanctified in them, Before the eyeseyes of the nationsnations, And they have dweltdwelt on their groundground, That I gave to My servantservant, to JacobJacob,

²⁶ And they have dweltdwelt on it confidently, And buildedbuilded houseshouses, and plantedplanted vineyardsvineyards, And dweltdwelt confidently -- in My doing judgments, On all those despising them round aboutround about, And they have knownknown that I, JehovahJehovah, [am] their GodGod!'
