Psalms 27

Étudier

1 Of David.
Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
Jehovah is the strength of my life; whom shall I dread?

2 When evildoers come··near against me to eat··up my flesh,
my adversaries and my enemies to me, they shall stumble and fall.

3 Though a camp should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear;
though war should rise··up against me, in this will I trust.

4 One thing have I asked from Jehovah, that will I seek;
that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,
to behold the pleasantness of Jehovah,
and to visit· in His temple ·in··the··morning*.

5 For He will keep· me ·secretly in His shelter in the day of evil,
He will hide me in the hiding··place of His tent;
On a rock He will exalt me.

6 And now shall my head be exalted over my enemies all around me;
and I will sacrifice in His tent sacrifices of shouting; I will sing, and play··psalms to Jehovah.

7 Hear, O Jehovah, I will call··with my voice:
and be··gracious··to me, and answer me.

8 To thee, O my heart, He has said, Seek ye My face!
Thy face, O Jehovah, will I Seek.

9 Hide not Thy face from me;
make not Thy servant go··aside in anger.
Thou hast been my help, abandon me not:
and forsake me not, O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
then Jehovah will gather me.

11 Instruct me, O Jehovah, in Thy way,
and lead me in a path of uprightness because··of my foes;

12 give· me not ·over unto the will of my adversaries:
for witnesses of falsity are risen··up against me, and he who puffs··out violence,

13 unless I had··believed to see the goodness of Jehovah
in the land of lives*.

14 Wait for Jehovah; hold··firm and He shall encourage thine heart;
and wait for Jehovah.
