Psalms 12

Étudier

1 To the victor, upon the sheminith*; a psalm of David.
2 Save, O Jehovah, for the merciful one has come··to··an··end;
for the faithful fail from the sons of man.

2 3 They speak vanity, a man with his companion;
with a flattering lip, with one heart and a second heart they speak.

3 4 Jehovah will cut··off all flattering lips,
the tongue that speaks great things;

4 5 who say, As··to our tongue we will prevail;
our lips are with us; who is lord to us?

5 6 From the devastation of the afflicted,
from the groaning of the needy,
now will I arise, says Jehovah;
I will set him in safety from him who puffs* at him.

6 7 The sayings of Jehovah are clean sayings;
silver refined in a crucible of earth, refined sevenfold.

7 8 Thou, O Jehovah, wilt keep them,
Thou wilt preserve him from this generation to eternity;

8 9 the wicked walk all around,
as worthlessness is exalted for the sons of man.
