Apocalypse Revealed (Rogers translation)

This is a translation of: Apocalypsis Revelata by Emanuel Swedenborg in 1766

Translated into English by Rev. N. Bruce Rogers

Description:

In the Bible, the "Apocalypse," aka the "Book of Revelation," has been puzzling to Christians ever since it was written. A good explanation is welcome. It seems hard to believe that the events described are literal ones but at the same time the stories seem to contain important messages for us. In "Apocalypsis Revelata", (or in English, "Apocalypse Revealed"), Swedenborg explains the inner meaning of the "Book of Revelation" chapter by chapter and verse by verse. It describes the spiritual end of the Christian church corrupted as it was by false ideas and evil loves and the beginning of a new Christian church where a true understanding of the Bible and a new set of ideas drawn from that could lead to a new age with truer faith and real charity.
