Abraham Lincoln and Thanksgiving

This is the original text of: Abraham Lincoln and Thanksgiving

Abraham Lincoln's spiritual faith was deep and thoughtful. His proclamation of a national day of Thanksgiving, during the Civil War, was very moving. He seems to have been a reader of Swedenborg's theological works, and was close friends with Swedenborgians in Illinois.
