Verse 1. Hearken, you who desire to live for heaven: You are now to advance from external to internal things, the new regenerate will within you is to occupy the place of evils far greater and more powerful than its own unaided strength would be, and fallacies in the soul proceeding from deep ingrained evils, and barred up to prevent the entrance of good into the mind,
