Numbers 2

Studie

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

Each··man of the sons of Israel shall encamp by his own banner, with the signs of the house of their fathers; all around the Tabernacle of the congregation from the··front shall they encamp.

And on the east toward the sunrise shall they of the banner of the camp of Judah encamp throughout their armies; and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be chief of the sons of Judah.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were four and seventy thousand and six hundred.

And those who encamp by him shall be the tribe of Issachar; and Nethaneel the son of Zuar shall be chief of the sons of Issachar.

And his army, and those that were numbered of it, were four and fifty thousand and four hundred.

The tribe of Zebulun; and Eliab the son of Helon shall be chief of the sons of Zebulun.

And his army, and those that were numbered thereof, were seven and fifty thousand and four hundred.

All that were numbered of the camp of Judah were a hundred thousand and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred of their armies. They shall journey first.

On the south··side shall be the banner of the camp of Reuben as··to their armies; and the chief of the sons of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.

And his army, and those that were numbered of it, were six and forty thousand and five hundred.

And those which encamp by him shall be the tribe of Simeon; and the chief of the sons of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were nine and fifty thousand and three hundred.

And the tribe of Gad; and the chief of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were five and forty thousand and six hundred and fifty.

All that were numbered for the camp of Reuben were a hundred thousand and one and fifty thousand and four hundred and fifty, of their armies. And the second rank shall journey forth.

And the Tabernacle of the congregation shall journey with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp; as they encamp, so shall they journey, each··man with his hand to their banners.

The banner of the camp of Ephraim as··to their armies shall be toward the sea; and the chief of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred.

And by him shall be the tribe of Manasseh; and the chief of the sons of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were two and thirty thousand and two··hundred.

And the tribe of Benjamin; and the chief of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were five and thirty thousand and four hundred.

All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were a hundred thousand and eight thousand and a hundred, of their armies. And the third rank shall journey forth.

The banner of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side as··to their armies; and the chief for the sons of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were two and sixty thousand and seven hundred.

And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher; and the chief of the sons of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were one and forty thousand and five hundred.

And then the tribe of Naphtali; and the chief for the sons of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.

And his army, and those that were numbered of them, were three and fifty thousand and four hundred.

All they that were numbered of the camp of Dan were a hundred thousand and seven and fifty thousand and six hundred. They shall journey last with their banners.

These are those which were numbered of the sons of Israel as··to the house of their fathers; all those that were numbered of the camps throughout their armies were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

But the Levites were not numbered in the midst the sons of Israel; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

And the sons of Israel did according··to all that Jehovah commanded Moses; so they encamped as··to their banners, and so they journeyed, a man to his family, by the house of his fathers.
