Leviticus 6

Studie

1 5:20 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

2 5:21 If a soul sin, and trespass a trespass against Jehovah, and deceive his fellow··man in what was deposited or in what··was··set in his hand, or in what was taken··by··robbery, or have oppressed his fellow··man,

3 5:22 or have found what was lost, and deceive in it, and promise falsely concerning any one from all of these which man does to sin;

4 5:23 then it shall be, that he has sinned and is··guilty, and he shall return what was taken··by··robbery that he took··by··robbery, or the oppression that he has oppressed, or the deposit that was deposited with him, or what is lost that he has found,

5 5:24 or from all concerning which he has promised falsely; and he shall repay it in its principal, and shall add its fifth part on it, and give it to him to whom it is, in the day of his guilt offering.

6 5:25 And he shall bring his guilt offering to Jehovah, a perfect ram out··of the flock, with thy value, for a guilt offering, to the priest;

7 5:26 and the priest shall make··atonement on· his ·account before Jehovah; and it shall be pardoned to him concerning each one from all that he has done for the guilt in it.

8 1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

9 2 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt··offering; It is the burnt··offering, on··account··of the burning upon the altar all the night until the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.

10 3 And the priest shall clothe· himself ·with his linen robe, and with linen breeches shall he clothe himself on his flesh, and lift··up the burnt fatness which the fire has eaten with the burnt··offering on the altar, and he shall set it beside the altar.

11 4 And he shall strip··off his garments, and clothe· himself ·with other garments, and bring··out the burnt fatness to outside the camp to a clean place.

12 5 And the fire on the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be quenched; and the priest shall burn wood on it in the morning by the morning, and arrange the burnt··offering upon it; and he shall burn··for··incense upon it the fat of the peace··offerings.

13 6 The fire shall continually be burning on the altar; it shall not be··quenched.

14 7 And this is the law of the gift··offering; the sons of Aaron shall offer it before Jehovah, before the altar.

15 8 And he shall lift··high his handful from it, from the flour of the gift··offering, and of its oil, and all the frankincense which is upon the gift··offering, and shall burn· it ·for··incense upon the altar for a restful smell, even the memorial of it, to Jehovah.

16 9 And the remainder of it shall Aaron and his sons eat; with unleavened bread shall it be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the Tabernacle of the congregation they shall eat it.

17 10 It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it to them for their part of My fire··offerings; it is a holy of holies, as is the sin offering, and as the guilt offering.

18 11 All the males among the sons of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute of eternity to your generations concerning the fire··offerings of Jehovah; everyone that touches them shall be··holy.

19 12 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

20 13 This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer to Jehovah in the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of flour for a gift··offering continually, half of it in the morning, and half of it in the evening.

21 14 On a griddle it shall be made with oil; bubbling thou shalt bring it; the baked morsels of the gift··offering shalt thou offer for a restful smell to Jehovah.

22 15 And the priest of his sons anointed in· his ·stead shall make it; it is a statute of eternity to Jehovah; all of it shall be burnt··for··incense.

23 16 For all of the gift··offering for the priest shall be burnt; it shall not be eaten.

24 17 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

25 18 Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering; in the place where the burnt··offering is slaughtered shall the sin offering be slaughtered before Jehovah: it is a holy of holies.

26 19 The priest that offers it for sin shall eat it; in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the Tabernacle of the congregation.

27 20 All that shall touch its flesh shall be··holy; and what is spattered of its blood on the garment, thou shalt wash what was spattered on in the holy place.

28 21 But the pottery vessel in which it is cooked shall be broken; and if it be cooked in a vessel of bronze, it shall be both scoured, and rinsed with water.

29 22 All the males among the priests shall eat of it; it is a holy of holies.

30 23 And all the sin offering, of which any of the blood is brought into the Tabernacle of the congregation to make··atonement withal in the holy place, shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt··up in the fire.

287. Because these are the origins of peace, the Lord is called the Prince of Peace and says that peace comes from him and that peace is in him. So too angels are called angels of peace and heaven the dwelling place of peace, as in the following passages:

A child is born to us, a son is given to us, on whose shoulder the government [shall rest], and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, God, Hero, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace; of the increase of government and peace there shall be no end. (Isaiah 9:5-6 9:6-7)

Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you, not as the world gives do I give to you." (John 14:27)

I have told you these things so that you might have peace in me. (John 16:33)

May Jehovah lift his face to you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:26)

The angels of peace weep bitterly, the highways are ruined. (Isaiah 33:7-8)

The work of justice will be peace, and my people will live in a dwelling place of peace. (Isaiah 32:17-18)

[2] We may also gather that "peace" in the Word means divine and heavenly peace from other passages where it is mentioned, as for example in Isaiah 52:7; 54:10; 59:8; Jeremiah 16:5; 25:37; 29:11; Haggai 2:9; Zechariah 8:12; Psalms 37:37; and elsewhere.

Because peace means the Lord and heaven and also heavenly joy and the delight of good, greetings in ancient times were - and consequently still are-"Peace be with you." The Lord confirmed this, too, when he sent out his disciples and told them, "When you enter a house, first say 'Peace be upon this house'; and if a child of peace is there, let your peace rest upon it" (Luke 10:5-6). Further, the Lord himself said "Peace be with you" when he appeared to the apostles (John 20:19, 21, 26).

[3] A state of peace is also meant in the Word when it says that "Jehovah smelled an odor of quietness," as in Exodus 29:18, 25, 41; Leviticus 1:9, 13, 17, 2:2, 9, 6:8, 14 6:15, 21?; Leviticus 23:12-13, 18; Numbers 15:3, 7, 13, 28:6, 8, 13, 29:2, 6, 8, 13, 36. "An odor of quietness," in the heavenly sense, means a perception of peace. 1

Since peace means the oneness of the Divine itself and the divine human in the Lord and the union of the Lord with heaven and with the church and with everyone in heaven, and also with everyone in the church who accepts him, the Sabbath was instituted as a reminder of these matters and was named for quietness and peace. It became the holiest symbol of the church, which is why the Lord called himself the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28; Luke 6:5). 2

Poznámky pod čarou:

1. [Swedenborg's footnote] An odor in the Word means a perception of something pleasant or unpleasant, depending on the quality of the love and faith of the entity described: 3577, 4626, 4628, 4748, 5021 [5621?], 10292. An odor of quietness, in relation to Jehovah, means a perception of peace: 925, 10054. So frankincense, various kinds of incense, and the fragrances in oils and salves came to be representative: 925, 4748, 5621, 10177.

2. [Swedenborg's footnote] In the highest sense, the Sabbath means the oneness of the Divine itself with the divine human in the Lord; and in the inner sense the union of the Lord's divine human with heaven and the church. In a general sense it means the union of the good and the true and therefore the heavenly marriage: 8495, 10356, 10730. So the rest on the Sabbath day meant the state of that oneness, because then the Lord has rest, through which peace and salvation come to the heavens and to earth; and in a relative sense it means the union of the Lord with us, because then we have peace and salvation: 8494, 8510, 10360, 10367, 10370, 10374, 10668, 10730.
