Leviticus 5

Studie

And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of an oath, and be a witness, or he has seen or known of it; if he do not tell it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, or a carcass of an unclean animal, or a carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean crawling things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and be··guilty.

Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, any uncleanness with which he shall be··made··unclean, and it be hidden from him, when he knows of it, then he shall be··guilty.

Or if a soul promise, pronouncing with his lips to do··evil or to do··good, anything that man shall pronounce with a promise, and it be hidden from him, when he knows of it, then he shall be··guilty in one of these.

And it shall be, when he shall be··guilty as··to one of these things, that he shall confess that he has sinned concerning it;

and he shall bring his guilt offering to Jehovah for his sin which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a she-lamb or a she-goat of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make· an ·atonement for him for his sin.

And if his hand reach not enough for a lamb, then he shall bring for his guilt, which he has sinned, two turtledoves, or two young doves, to Jehovah; one for a sin offering, and one for a burnt··offering.

And he shall bring them to the priest, and he shall offer what is for the sin offering first, and wring··off its head from next··to its neck, but shall not separate it;

and he shall spatter from the blood of the sin offering on the wall of the altar; and what··is··left of the blood shall be pressed··out toward the foundation of the altar; it is a sin offering.

And he shall make the second a burnt··offering, according··to the judgment; and the priest shall make· an ·atonement for him from his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be pardoned.

But if his hand does not attain to two turtledoves, or to two young doves, then he who sinned shall bring for his offering a tenth of the ephah of flour for a sin offering; he shall set no oil on it, and he shall not put frankincense on it; for it is a sin offering.

And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take··a··handful from it, his full handful, a memorial thereof, and burn· it ·for··incense upon the altar, for the fire··offerings of Jehovah; it is a sin offering.

And the priest shall make··atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, of one of these, and he shall be pardoned; and the remnant shall be for the priest, as a gift··offering.

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

If a soul trespass a trespass, and sin in ignorance, from the holy things of Jehovah; then he shall bring for his guilt to Jehovah a perfect ram out··of the flocks, with thy value by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a guilt offering;

and he who sins from what is holy shall repay, and shall add the fifth part to it, and give it to the priest; and the priest shall make··atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and he shall be pardoned.

And if a soul sin, that he do one thing that he should not do against any of the commandments of Jehovah, and he knows not, and is··guilty, and bears his iniquity,

then he shall bring a perfect ram from the flock, with thy value, for a guilt offering, to the priest; and the priest shall make· an ·atonement for* him for* his ignorance in which he was··ignorant and he knows it not, and he shall be pardoned.

It is a guilt offering; being··guilty he is··guilty before Jehovah.

Flock

A flock signifies the church in simple good. Flock of thine heritage in Micah 7:14 signifies people in the church in the spiritual things of the Word, which are the truths of its internal sense (Apocalypse Explained 727[6]). A flock, as in Genesis 26, denotes interior or rational good. A flock signifies natural interior good, in Genesis 32:5. A flock signifies people in spiritual good.
