Ezekiel 28

Studie

And the word of Jehovah was unto me, saying,

Son of man, say unto the monarch of Tyre, Thus says the Lord Jehovih*; Because thy heart is··haughty, and thou hast said, I am god, I sit in the dwelling of god, in the heart of the seas; but thou art man, and not god, but thou givest thy heart as the heart of god;

behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; all that is blocked··off they will not obscure from thee.

With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast made thee belongings, and hast made gold and silver in thy treasures.

By the multitude of thy wisdom, by thy merchandise hast thou multiplied thy belongings, and thy heart is··haughty with thy belongings.

Therefore thus says the Lord Jehovih: Because thou hast put thy heart as the heart of God,

behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they shall unsheathe their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall··profane thy shining··forth.

They shall bring· thee ·down to the ditch, and thou shalt··die the deaths of the slain in the heart of the seas.

Wilt thou saying say before him that kills thee, I am god? but thou art man, and not god, in the hand of him that profanes thee.

Thou shalt··die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Jehovih.

And the word of Jehovah was unto me, saying,

Son of man, lift up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord Jehovih; Thou sealest the dimension, full of wisdom, and complete in beauty.

Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering*, the ruby, topaz, and the diamond, the tarshish*, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the chrysoprase, and the garnet, and gold; the work of thy timbrels and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Thou art the anointed sheltering cherub; and I have given thee so; thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, until perversity was··found in thee.

By the multitude of thy merchandise they have··filled thy midst with violence, and thou hast sinned; and I will remove thee as profane from the mountain of God: and I will make· thee ·perish, O sheltering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Thy heart was··haughty in thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom on··account··of thy shining··forth; I will cast thee on the land, I will put thee before kings, that they may see thee.

Thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the perversity of thy merchandise; and I will bring··forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will turn thee to ashes upon the earth before the eyes of all them that see thee.

All they that know thee among the peoples shall be··astonished over thee; vexations thou shalt become, and thou shalt be nothing even··to eternity.

And the word of Jehovah was unto me, saying,

Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,

and say, Thus says the Lord Jehovih: Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall have made judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

And I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the slain shall fall in the midst of her by the sword upon her all around; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

And there shall not be any··more a pricking thorn for the house of Israel, nor any painful thorn from all that are all around them, having··contempt for them; and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovih.

Thus says the Lord Jehovih; When I shall have brought··together the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them before the eyes of the nations, then shall they dwell upon their ground that I have given to My servant Jacob.

And they shall dwell securely on it, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; and they shall dwell securely, when I have made judgments upon all those having··contempt for them all around them; and they shall know that I am Jehovah their God.

And the king shall do according··to his good··pleasure; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak wonderful things against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the indignation be completed; for that which is decided shall be done.
