Verse 18. But Charity applies itself to the truth and good of the Word, which teaches true worship, and with which also the rational mind of the man of the church is furnished, and by means of the powers of the rational man, conjoins itself with the good of the natural man, derived from the good of truth, which again has its origin in the affection of knowing. And this is the natural good which governs the (new) natural man, and which perceives,
