Wathi uBhileham kuBhalaki, Ndakhele apha izibingelelo zibe sixhenxe, undimisele apha iinkunzi ezintsha zeenkomo zibe sixhenxe, neenkunzi zezimvu zibe sixhenxe.

Wenza ke uBhalaki njengoko wathethayo uBhileham. Bathi ooBhalaki noBhileham benyusa kwisibingelelo ngesibingelelo inkunzi entsha yenkomo nenkunzi yemvu.

Wathi uBhileham kuBhalaki, Yima wena ngasedinini lakho elinyukayo, ndihambe mna; mhlawumbi uYehova woza kundihlangabeza, nelizwi asukuba endibonisa lona ndokuxelela ke. Waya eluqhayini.

UThixo waqubisana noBhileham; wathi yena kuye, Ndilungise izibingelelo zasixhenxe, ndanyusa inkunzi entsha yenkomo nenkunzi yemvu kwisibingelelo ngesibingelelo.

UYehova wabeka ilizwi emlonyeni kaBhileham, wathi, Buya uye kuBhalaki, wenjenje ukuthetha.

Wabuya waya ke kuye. Nanko emi ngasedinini lakhe elinyukayo, yena nabathetheli bonke bakwaMowabhi.

Wasusela ngomzekeliso wakhe, wathi, UBhalaki ukumkani wamaMowabhi undithabathe kwa-Aram, Ezintabeni zasempumalanga, esithi, Yiza undiqalekisele uYakobi; Yiza ubhavumele uSirayeli.

Ndothini na ukuqalekisa angamqalekisiyo uThixo? Ndothini na ukubhavumela angambhavumeliyo uYehova?

Ngokuba, ndisencotsheni yamawa, ndiyambona; Ndisezindulini, ndibonisela yena. Yabona, ngabantu abahlala bodwa, Ababalelwa phakathi kwazo iintlanga.

Ngubani na ongalubalayo uthuli lwakwaYakobi, Nesahlulo sesine sakwaSirayeli ngokwenani? Umphefumlo wam mawufe ukufa kwabathe tye, Ukuphela kwam kube njengokwabo!

Wathi uBhalaki kuBhileham, Yintoni na le nto undenze yona? Ndikuthabathele ukuba uziqalekise iintshaba zam, nanku amana ukuzisikelela.

Waphendula yena, wathi, Oko akubekileyo uYehova emlonyeni wam, mandingakugcini na, ndikuthethe?

Wathi uBhalaki kuye, Khawuze siye ndaweni yimbi, apho uya kubabona; wobona isiphelo sabo sodwa, ungababoni bonke bephela; undiqalekiseleke bona apho.

Wamsa emhlabeni wababoniseli, encotsheni yePisga, wakha izibingelelo ezisixhenxe; wenyusa inkunzi entsha yenkomo, nenkunzi yemvu, kwisibingelelo ngesibingelelo.

UYehova waqubisana noBhileham, wabeka ilizwi emlonyeni wakhe, wathi, Buya uye kuBhalaki, wenjenje ukuthetha.

Wafika ke kuye; nanko emi ngasedinini lakhe elinyukayo, nabathetheli bakwaMowabhi benaye; wathi uBhalaki kuye, Uthethe ntoni na uYehova?

Wasusela ngomzekeliso wakhe, wathi, Suka ume, Bhalaki uve; Ndibekele indlebe, nyana kaTsipore.

UThixo akamntu ukuba athethe amanga, Akanyana waluntu ukuba azohlwaye. Etshilo nje yena, akayi kwenza na? Ethethile nje, akayi kufeza na?

Yabona, ndamkele ukusikelela; Usikelele, ke andinakukubuyisa.

Akaboni butshinga kuYakobi, Akaboni bubi kuSirayeli. UYehova uThixo wakhe unaye, Ukuduma kokumkani kuphakathi kwakhe.

UThixo umkhupha eYiputa; Amendu akhe anjengawenqu.

Akukho zihlabo ngoYakobi, Akukho kuvumisa ngoSirayeli. Ngexesha elililo, kuthethwa kuYakobi nakuSirayeli Into ayenzayo uThixo.

Yabona, abantu besuka njengengonyamakazi; Baziphakamisa njengengonyam’ induna. Abalali phantsi, bade badle okuqwengiweyo, Basele igazi labahlatyiweyo.

Wathi uBhalaki kuBhileham, Uze ungabi sabaqalekisa, uze ungabi sabasikelela.

Waphendula uBhileham wathi kuBhalaki, Bendingathethanga na kuwe ndathi, Konke akuthethayo uYehova ndiya kwenza kona?

Wathi uBhalaki kuBhileham, Khawuze ndikuse ndaweni yimbi; mhlawumbi kolunga emehlweni kaThixo, ukuba undiqalekisele ke bona khona.

UBhalaki wamsa ke uBhileham encotsheni yePehore, ekhangele enkangala.

Wenza ke uBhalaki njengoko wathethayo uBhileham, wenyusa kwisibingelelo ngesibingelelo inkunzi entsha yenkomo nenkunzi yemvu.

Explanation of Numbers 23

Napsal(a) Henry MacLagan

Verses 1-6. On the false worship of those who are in adulterated good, from selfish love most external, in order that there may be, with the man of the true church, aversion from the Lord.

Verses 7-12. But the corrupted understanding which is internally in agreement with the depraved will, is compelled, nevertheless, externally, and yet truly, to show that the good man has conjunction with the Lord.

Verses 13-26. Secondly, the same false worship is continued with the same object; the will and understanding of the corrupted man are more closely conjoined in another state; and they receive revelation again contrary to their wish.

Verses 27-30. And, thirdly, they still desire to make a final effort to shake off the influence of the good and the true, in a state of the interior will, from which they discern that they are about to be quite desolated as to both.
