Wamwisela umthetho umphathi wendlu, esithi, Zizalise iingxowa zala madoda ngokudla, njengoko zinako ukukhongozela, uyibeke imali yalowo nalowo emlonyeni wengxowa yakhe;

uyibeke indebe yam, indebe yesilivere, emlonyeni wengxowa yomncinane, nemali yengqolowa yakhe. Wenza ke ngokwelizwi likaYosefu abelithethile.

Kwakuthi qhiphu ukusa, andululwa loo madoda, wona namaesile awo.

Akubona ukuba aphumile emzini, engekayi kude, wathi uYosefu kumphathi wendlu yakhe, Suka, uwasukele laa madoda; wakuwafumana uze uthi kuwo, Yini na ukuba niphindezele okulungileyo ngokubi?

Le nto asiyile na inkosi yam isela ngayo, ihlabe nezihlabo ngayo? Yinto embi le nto niyenzileyo.

Wawafumana, wathetha kuwo loo mazwi.

Athi kuye, Yini na ukuba inkosi yam ithethe ngokwaloo mazwi? Makube lee kubakhonzi bakho ukwenza ngokwelo lizwi.

Uyabona, imali esayifumanayo emlonyeni weengxowa zethu, sayibuyisela kuwe, sivela ezweni lakwaKanan. Singathini na ke ukuba endlwini yenkosi yakho isilivere nokuba yigolide?

Osukuba ifunyenwe kuye phakathi kwabakhonzi bakhe, makafe; kananjalo thina sibe ngamakhoboka enkosini yam.

Wathi, Makube njengokwamazwi enu; ke ngoko osukuba ifunyenwe kuye, woba sisicaka sam, ke nina noba msulwa.

Bakhawuleza, bathula elowo ingxowa yakhe, bayibeka emhlabeni, bavula elowo ingxowa yakhe.

Wagquthagqutha, eqalela komkhulu, egqibela komncinane; yafunyanwa indebe engxoweni kaBhenjamin.

Bazikrazula iingubo zabo, babopha elowo iesile lakhe, babuyela kuloo mzi.

Wafika uYuda nabazalwana bakhe endlwini kaYosefu; ubesekhona yena. Bawa phambi kwakhe emhlabeni.

UYosefu wathi kubo, Sisenzo sini na esi nisenzileyo? Beningazi na ukuba indoda enjengam nje ibingahlaba izihlabo?

UYuda wathi, Siya kuthini na enkosini yam? Siya kuthetha ntoni na? Siya kuzihlamba njani na? UThixo ubufumene ubugwenxa babakhonzi bakho; yabona, singabakhonzi benkosi yam, thina aba, nalowa indebe ifunyenwe esandleni sakhe.

Wathi, Makube lee kum ukwenza loo nto; indoda efunyenwe esandleni sayo indebe, yiyo eya kuba sisicaka kum; ke nina nyukani nixolile, niye kuyihlo.

UYuda wasondela kuye, wathi, Tarhu, nkosi yam! Makhe athethe ilizwi umkhonzi wakho ezindlebeni zinkosi yam; mawungavuthi umsindo wakho ngakumkhonzi wakho, ngokuba ungangoFaro wena.

Yababuza inkosi yam abakhonzi bayo, isithi, Ninoyihlo na? Ninomninawa na?

Sathi thina enkosini yam, Sinobawo ixhego, nomntwana wobuxhego bakhe omncinane; umkhuluwa wakhe wafa, yena usele yedwa kunina, uyise uyamthanda.

Wathi ke wena kubakhonzi bakho, Yihlani naye eze kum, ndiwamise amehlo am kuye.

Sathi thina kwinkosi yam, Umfana lowo akanako ukumshiya uyise; emshiyile, uyise angafa.

Wathi wena kubakhonzi bakho, Ukuba umninawa wenu omncinane akathanga ehle nani, aniyi kubuya nibubone ubuso bam.

Kwathi, xenikweni senyukayo saya kumkhonzi wakho ongubawo, samxelela amazwi enkosi yam.

Wathi ubawo, Buyani niye kusithengela intwana yokudla.

Sathi, Asinakuhla. Ukuba umninawa wethu omncinane unathi, sohla; kuba asinakububona ubuso bendoda leyo, engenathi umninawa wethu omncinane.

Wathi ubawo umkhonzi wakho kuthi, Niyazi nina, ukuba umkam wandizalela oonyana ababini.

Omnye waphuma kum, ndathi, Inene, uqwengiwe; andimbonanga unangoku.

Nimthabatha nje nalo ebusweni bam, ethe wahlelwa yingozi, nozihlisela izimvi zam zinobubi kwelabafileyo.

Ngoko ke, ukuba ndithe ndafike kubawo umkhonzi wakho, engenathi umfana (umphefumlo wakhe ubotshwe nomphefumlo wakhe nje),

kothi, akubona ukuba akakho umfana, afe, nabakhonzi bakho bahlise izimvi zomkhonzi wakho ubawo enesingqala, ziye kwelabafileyo.

Kuba umkhonzi wakho lo wammela umfana lowo kubawo, ndisithi, Ukuba andithanga ndimzise kuwe, ndoba netyala kubawo yonke imihla yam.

Ngoko makahlale umkhonzi wakho lo esikhundleni somfana, ndibe likhoboka enkosini yam mna; umfana anyuke nabakhuluwa bakhe.

Kuba ndingathini na ukunyuka ndiye kubawo, engenam umfana? hleze ndibubone ububi obomfumana ubawo.
