6 Wathi uAbram kuSarayi, Yabona, umkhonzazana wakho asesandleni sakho; yenza kuye okulungileyo emehlweni akho. USarayi wamcinezela, wabaleka wemka ebusweni bakhe.

7 Ke kaloku isithunywa sikaYehova samfumana ngasemthonjeni wamanzi entlango, ngasemthonjeni osendleleni eya eShure.

8 Sathi, Hagare, mkhonzazana kaSarayi, uvela phi na, usiya phi na? Wathi, Ndibaleke ndemka ebusweni bukaSarayi, inkosikazi yam.

9 Sathi isithunywa sikaYehova kuye, Buyela kwinkosikazi yakho, uzithobe phantsi kwesandla sayo.

10 Sathi isithunywa sikaYehova kuye, Ndiya kuyandisa kakhulu imbewu yakho, ingabalwa ngenxa yobuninzi.

11 Sathi isithunywa sikaYehova kuye, Yabona umithi; uya kuzala unyana, umthiye igama elinguIshmayeli, ngokuba uYehova uzivile iintsizi zakho.

12 Yena uya kuba ngumntu onjenge-esile lasendle ukundweba; isandla sakhe siya kuchasana nabantu bonke, isandla sabantu bonke sichasane naye; ahlale ebusweni babazalwana bakhe bonke.

13 Walibiza igama likaYehova, obethetha naye, wathi, UnguThixo ozibonakalisayo. Ngokuba wathi, Ndisabona na nalapha, emveni kokuba ndimbonile?

14 Ngenxa yoko walithiya elo qula igama lokuthi liQula likaPhila-ebonile; nalo phakathi kweKadeshe neBherede.

15 UHagare wamzalela uAbram unyana; uAbram ukumthiya igama unyana wakhe, lowo abemzalele yena uHagare, wathi nguIshmayeli.

16 UAbram ubeminyaka imashumi asibhozo anamithandathu ezelwe, oko uHagare wamzalelayo uAbram uIshmayeli.
