2 Wathi uFaro, Ngubani na uYehova, ukuba ndiphulaphule izwi lakhe, lokuba ndindulule uSirayeli? Andimazi uYehova, kananjalo andiyi kumndulula uSirayeli.

3 Bathi ke, UThixo wamaHebhere uhlangene nathi; makhe sihambe entlango uhambo lweentsuku ezintathu, sibingelele kuYehova uThixo wethu, hleze asiqwele ngendyikitya yokufa nangekrele.

4 Wathi ukumkani waseYiputa kubo, Yini na, nina Moses noAron, ukuba nibakhulule abantu emisebenzini yabo? Yiyani emithwalweni yenu.

5 Wathi uFaro, Yabonani, baninzi abantu belizwe ngoku, ke nina niyabaphumza emithwalweni yabo.

6 UFaro wabawisela umthetho abaphathi nabaqhubi-kalukhuni babantu ngaloo mini, esithi,

7 Ize ningabi sabanika abantu umququ wokwenza izitena, njengokwangaphambili; mabaye ngokwabo, bazibuthele umququ;

8 nenani ababelenza njengokwangaphambili, bamiseleni lona; ize ningalinciphisi, kuba bayahiliza; kuko le nto bakhalayo, besithi, Masiye kubingelela kuThixo wethu.

9 Mawube nzima umsebenzi phezu kwamadoda, asebenze wona, angaphulaphuli amazwi obuxoki.

10 Baphuma ke abaphathi nabaqhubi-kalukhuni babantu, bathetha ebantwini bathi, Utsho uFaro ukuthi, Andiyi kuninika mququ;

11 yiyani nina, nizithabathele umququ apho ningawufumana khona; kuba akuyi kuncitshiswa nto emsebenzini wenu.

12 Baphalazeka abantu ezweni lonke laseYiputa, babutha iindiza endaweni yomququ.

13 Abaqhubi-kalukhuni babantu babangxamisa, besithi, Yisebenzeni imisebenzi yenu, into yemini ngangemini yayo, ngangokuya naninomququ.

14 Babethwa ke abaphathi boonyana bakaSirayeli, ababemiswe phezu kwabo ngabaqhubi-kalukhuni babantu bakaFaro, kusithiwa, Kungathuba lini na, ukuba ningagqibi ukwenza izitena enizimiselweyo izolo nanamhla, njengokwangaphambili?

15 Baya abaphathi boonyana bakaSirayeli, bakhala kuFaro, besithi, Yini na ukuba wenjenje kubakhonzi bakho?

16 Abakhonzi bakho aba abanikwa mququ; kuthiwa ke kuthi, Yenzani izitena. Yabona, abakhonzi bakho aba bayabethwa, kanti kona abantu bakho abo.

17 Wathi, Kuhiliza nina; niyahiliza, kuko le nto nithi, Masiye sibingelele kuYehova.

18 Yiyani ke ngoku, nisebenze; aniyi kunikwa mququ; ke lona inani lezitena niya kulirhola.

19 Babona abaphathi boonyana bakaSirayeli ukuba basebubini, kusithiwa nje, Aniyi kunciphisa nto eziteneni zenu, kwinto yemini ngangemini yayo.

20 Baqubisana noMoses noAron, beza kubo ekuphumeni kwabo kuFaro.

21 Bathi kubo, UYehova makanikhangele, agwebe; ekubeni nilinukisile ivumba lethu phambi koFaro, naphambi kwabakhonzi bakhe, ukuba kubekwe ikrele lokusibulala esandleni sabo.

22 Wabuyela kuYehova uMoses, esithi, Nkosi yam, yini na ukuba ubaphathe kakubi aba bantu? Yini na le nto uthume mna?

23 Kususela koko ndangenayo kuFaro, ndithetha egameni lakho, yena ubaphethe kakubi aba bantu; akubahlangulanga nokubahlangula abantu bakho.
