1 Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.

Verse 1. In that state of the corrupted spiritual church in which vastation is complete, a new state of the celestial church arises from a former corrupt state, which new state is one of strong confidence in the Lord.
