1 Konungaboken 22:11

Verse 11. And first according to the appearances of truth, adapted to external worship, which are in the literal sense of the Word, and thus in their fulness and power from the Lord, but which are falsified by the corrupted church, the natural man may be opposed and subdued at length by means of self-love.
