25 και εδεηθην εναντιον κυριου τεσσαρακοντα ημερας και τεσσαρακοντα νυκτας οσας εδεηθην ειπεν γαρ κυριος εξολεθρευσαι υμας

Verse 25. Thus, again, the spiritual man was brought into a state of deep humiliation before the Lord by temptations both as to the affections and the understanding of truth, as on the former occasions; because it feared that the soul would be cut off from all conjunction with heaven and spiritual life,
