και ιλασεται κυριος τω δουλω σου εν τω εισπορευεσθαι τον κυριον μου εις οικον ρεμμαν προσκυνησαι αυτον και επαναπαυσεται επι της χειρος μου και προσκυνησω εν οικω ρεμμαν εν τω προσκυνειν αυτον εν οικω ρεμμαν και ιλασεται δη κυριος τω δουλω σου εν τω λογω τουτω

Verse 18. But, at the same time, in the progress of regeneration, the subject thereof is conscious of infirmity, since the natural man is devoted to self, and the exaltation of self, supporting himself in this, even by the power of reason, so that the new life is, as it were, drawn downwards by the force of apparently lawful selfish delights, while yet it confesses its weakness, and implores Divine protection and deliverance.
