35 I◦, Jehovah, have spoken; Surely I will do this to all this evil congregation who have congregated against Me; in this wilderness they shall be entirely consumed, and there they shall die.

Verse 35. And this arises from the unchangeable character of Divine Good and of Divine Truth thence, evil being the opposite of good, and falsity the opposite of truth, so that the wicked are consumed by their own falsities, and are overwhelmed by their own evils.
