And Jonah prayed to▵ Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish,
and said, I called from my adversity to▵ Jehovah, and He answered me; from the belly of hell I cried··out, and Thou didst hear my voice.
And Thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, and the river surrounded me; all Thy breakers and Thy waves passed over me.
And I◦ said, I am driven··out from in··front··of Thine eyes; nevertheless◦ I will look again toward▵ the temple of Thy holiness.
The waters enclosed me, even··to the soul; the abyss surrounded me; the seaweed bound··up my head.
I went··down to the bottoms* of the mountains; the earth with her bars was over▫ me for eternity; but Thou hast brought··up my life from the ditch, O Jehovah my God.
When my soul was··overwhelmed within me I remembered Jehovah; and my prayer came··in unto▵ Thee, into▵ the temple of Thy holiness.
They who keep fleeting vanities forsake their own mercy.
But I◦ will sacrifice to Thee with the voice of confession; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of◦ Jehovah.
And Jehovah spoke◦ to the fish, and it vomited··out Jonah to▵ the dry land.
