Ezekiel 42

Studie

And he brought· me ·out into the outer court, the way of the way of the north; and he brought me into the room that was in··front··of the separation, and which was in··front··of the building to the north.

Before the length of a hundred cubits was the north entrance, and the breadth was fifty cubits.

In··front··of the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and in··front··of the pavement which was for the outer court, was a gallery unto the face of a gallery on the third story.

And before the rooms was a walk of ten cubits breadth to the interior, a way of one cubit; and their entrances to the north.

And the uppermost rooms were cut··short; for the galleries devoured of them more than the lowest, and more than the middle of the building.

For they were··of··three stories, but had no pillars as the pillars of the courts; therefore the third story was··narrower* than the lowest and the middle from the earth.

And the fence that was outside alongside the rooms, the way of the outer court toward the face of the rooms, the length of it was fifty cubits.

For the length of the rooms that were in the outer court was fifty cubits; and, behold, before the temple were a hundred cubits.

And from under these rooms was the entryway on the east, as one goes··in to them from the outer court.

The rooms were in the breadth of the wall of the court the way of the east, against the face of the separation, and against the face of the building.

And the way before them was like the appearance of the rooms which were the way of the north, as their length so their breadth; and all their outgoings were both according··to their manner, and according··to their entrances.

And as the entrances of the rooms that were on the way of the south there was an entrance in the head of the way, even the way before the fence shielding the way of the east, as one comes··in.

Then said he unto me, The north rooms and the south rooms, which are before the separation, they be holy rooms, where the priests that are near unto Jehovah shall eat the holy of holy things; there shall they place the holy of holy things, and the gift··offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering; for the place is holy.

When the priests come therein, then shall they not go··out of the holy place into the outer court, but there they shall place their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and are clothed with other garments, and shall come··near to those things which are for the people.

And he completed measuring the inner house, and he brought· me ·forth in the way of the gate who faced the way of the east, and measured it all around.

He measured toward the wind of the east with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed all around.

He measured toward the wind of the north five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed all around.

He measured toward the wind of the south, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.

He turned··around to the wind of the sea*, and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.

He measured it to the four winds; it had a wall around and around it, the length five hundred reeds, and the breadth five hundred reeds, to distinguish between the holy and the profane.
