35 To Me belongs vengeance, and repayment; their foot shall move in due time; for the day of their downfall is near, and their fortunes* shall hurry upon them.

Verse 35. Divine order appoints punishment or reward for every action of man; the power shall at length be taken from the evil to tempt man's lower nature: it is absolutely certain that they will perish, the zeal of the Lord for the safety of the soul requires it.
