1 If one be found slain on the ground which Jehovah thy God gives to thee to possess it, fallen in the field, and it be not known who smote him,

Verse 1. If the Divine Spirit or Influx of good and truth from heaven be found profaned, perverted, or extinguished in the soul in the new states which the Divine Love and Wisdom have given you as your own in regeneration, being destroyed in the external man, and it be not known what caused it to perish;
