1 In his days, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came·​·up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years; and he turned·​·back and revolted against◦ him.

Verse 1. And when the corrupted church is under the rule of truth falsified by self-love, the love of dominion, which causes grief, condemnation, and confusion, is exalted therein for a full period; and then the common perception of the man of the church revolts against such exaltation.
