9 And it was, when they were crossed·​·over, that Elijah◦ said to▵ Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before◦ I be taken from thee. And Elisha said, I pray◦, let a double portion* of thy spirit be for◦ me.

Verse 9. And when falsities are dispersed by the power of the Divine Word there is perception thence, with those who are in good, that their desire for good is increased, producing an earnest longing for the full conjunction of goodness and truth from the Lord in themselves.
