Ainsi a dit l'Eternel : à cause de trois crimes d'Israël, même à cause de quatre, je ne rappellerai point cela; [mais je le ferai] parce qu'ils ont vendu le juste pour de l'argent, et le pauvre pour une paire de souliers;

Exploring the Meaning of Amos 2

By Helen Kennedy

In this chapter, the Lord tells how people in Moab, Judah and Israel will be punished because they're continuing in their evils. Starting in verse 9, He shows that He has the strength to punish them, because He’s already overcome the Amorites, who symbolize evil in general (Secrets of Heaven 6306).
