1 Issanda sõna, mis tuli prohvet Jeremijale vilistite kohta, enne kui vaarao lõi Assat.

2 Nõnda ütleb Issand: 'Vaata, veed tõusevad põhja poolt ja neist saab tulvav jõgi; need ujutavad üle maa ja kõik, mis seda täidab, linna ja selle rahva. Siis inimesed kisendavad ja kõik maa elanikud uluvad.

3 Kui kostab tema täkkude kabjaplagin, tema vankrite mürin, tema rataste ragin, siis ei vaata isad oma laste järele - nii jõuetud on nende käed

4 selle päeva pärast, mis tuleb hävitama kõiki vilisteid, kaotama Tüüroselt ja Siidonilt kõiki abistajaid, kes on neile veel jäänud; sest Issand hävitab vilistid, allesjäänud Kaftoori saarelt.

5 Kiilaspäisus tabab Assat, vaikima peab Askelon! Jääk nende orus, kui kaua sa tahad lõigata oma ihu?

6 Oh, Issanda mõõk, kui kaua ei ole sul rahu? Mine tagasi oma tuppe, püsi paigal ja ära liigu!

7 Kuidas sa saad olla rahulik? Sest Issand on andnud temale käsu ning on määranud ta sinna Askeloni ja mereranna vastu.'
