En de koning Achaz gebood Uria, den priester, zeggende: Steek op het grote altaar aan het morgenbrandoffer, en het avondspijsoffer, en des konings brandoffer, en zijn spijsoffer, en het brandoffer van al het volk des lands, en hun spijsoffer, en hun drankofferen; en spreng daarop al het bloed des brandoffers, en al het bloed des slachtoffer; maar het koperen altaar zal mij zijn, om te onderzoeken.

Verse 15. And self-love, influencing the falsity governing in the corrupted church, or man, determines that worship shall be merely external and ritualistic, as to states of affection in its brightness, and similar states in its obscurity; also as to states of the intellect bright and obscure; and as to the affections and intellect of the sensual man; also that purification by Divine Truth shall be merely external; and yet that there shall be all the appearance of genuine worship by the acknowledgment of the Lord.
