40 Olive-trees shalt thou have throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with oil; for thine Olive-tree shall cast its fruit.

Verse 40. Though you may live in the Church with the means of acquiring celestial good within reach, you shall not enjoy its felicities; for the good within you shall be dissipated by evils.
