1 引言:摩西忆述往事

2 从何烈经过西珥,到达加低斯.巴尼亚,共有十一天程。

3 出埃及以后第四十年十日,摩西照着耶和华吩咐他切关于以色列人的话,都告诉了他们。

4 当时,他已经击败了在希实本的亚摩利人的西宏,和在亚斯他录与以得来的巴珊噩。

5 摩西约旦河东的摩押地,开始讲解这律法,

6 耶和华我们,在何烈告诉我们:‘你们在这够了;

7 现在你们要回,起程到亚摩利人的地去,到那些住在亚拉巴、地、低地地、沿、迦人的地、黎巴嫩,直到,就是幼发拉底河的地方去。

8 哪,我把这地摆在你面前,你们要进去,占领这地为业,就是耶和华向你们列祖亚伯拉罕以撒雅各起誓应许他们和他们的裔的地。’

9 选立智慧人为首领(出18:13-27)“那时,我曾经对你们:‘你们的重担,我独自一人无法担当。

10 耶和华你们的使你们多起来;你们看,你们今日像上的那样多。

11 耶和华你们列祖的,使你们比现在更多倍,又照着他应许你们的话,赐福给你们。

12 我独自一人怎能担得起你们的重担、责任和你们争讼的事呢?

13 你们要按着支派选出一些有智慧、有见识、有经验的人,我就立他们作你们的首领。’

14 你们回答我,:‘你吩咐我们作的事很。’

15 我就选出你们众支派中的领袖,就是有智慧有经验的人;按着你们的支派,立他们作管理你们的首领,就是作夫长、夫长、五十夫长、夫长其他长。

16 “那时,我吩咐你们的审判官,说:‘你们在兄弟讼,无论是兄弟彼此诉讼,或是与同居的外地诉讼,都要按着公义审判。

17 审判的时候,不可偏袒;无论贵贱尊卑,都要一样地讼;不可怕的情面,因为审判是属于的;如果你们遇见难断的案件,可以呈到我这里来,让我审断。’

18 那时,我把你们当作的一切事,都吩咐了你们。

19 派人前往窥探迦南地(民13:1-24)“我们照着耶和华我们吩咐我们的,从何烈起行,走过你们所见那可怕的旷野,沿着到亚摩利人地的而行;后到了加低斯.巴尼亚。

20 我对你们:‘你们已经到了亚摩利人的地,就是耶和华我们我们的。

21 哪,耶和华你的已经把这地摆在你面前;你要照着耶和华你列祖的告诉你的上去,占领那地;不要害怕,也不要惊惶。’

22 你们众人都走到我这里:‘我们要先派些人去,替我们窥探那地,然后把我们上去该走哪一条,该进哪些城,向我们回报。’

23 我很同意,就从你们中间选了十,每支派

24 于是他们转身出发,上了地,到了以实各谷,窥探那地。

25 他们里拿着那地的果子,带来到我们这里,并且向我们回报,:‘耶和华我们要赐我们的地是美地。’

26 众民缺乏信心(民13:25-33)“但你们不肯上去,竟违背了耶和华你们的的吩咐;

27 你们在帐幕里抱怨,:‘耶和华因为恨我们,所以把我们埃及地领出来,要把我们交在亚摩利人中,消灭我们

28 我们上哪里去呢?我们的兄弟使我们心灰意冷,说:那地的人比我们高;他们的城邑又又坚固,高耸入;我们在那里还见有亚衲族的人。’

29 我就对你们:‘不要惊恐,不要害怕他们。

30 耶和华你们的,就是那走在你们前面的那一位,他必为你们作战,好像他在埃及,在你们面前,为你们所行的一切一样,

31 并且在旷野里,你们也见了耶和华你们的,怎样在你们所行的一切上,背负你们,好像背负自己的儿子一样,直到你们到了这地方。’

32 虽然这样,你们还是不信耶和华你们的

33 他在上走在你们前面,为你们寻找安营的地方;夜间用柱,日间用彩,指示你们当走的

34 众民的惩罚(民14:20-45)“耶和华见了你们的声音,就恼怒,起誓

39 还有你们的小孩子,你们要被掳掠的,和你们的儿女,就是今天还不知道善恶的,他们都要进入那地;我要把那地赐他们,他们要占领那地。

40 至于你们,你们要回,经往红,起程到旷野里去。’

41 “那时你们回答我,:‘我们得罪了耶和华;现在我们愿意照着耶和华我们的一切吩咐,上去作战。’于是你们都预备了兵器,轻率地上去了。

42 耶和华对我:‘你要对他们:“你们不要上去,也不要作战,因为我不在你们中间,免得你们在仇敌面前被击败。”’

43 我就告诉你们,你们却不从,竟违背耶和华的吩咐,擅自上去了。

44 在那上的亚摩利人,就出来攻击你们,好像蜂群一样追赶你们,在西珥击杀你们,直到何珥玛。

45 你们就回来,在耶和华面前哭,但耶和华你们的声音,也不向你们侧耳。

46 于是你们在加低斯许多日子。”
