And when they had gone away from RephidimRephidim and had comecome into the waste land of SinaiSinai, they putput up their tents in the waste land before the mountainmountain: there IsraelIsraelputput up its tents.
And let limits be marked out for the people round the mountainmountain, and saysay to them, Take care not to go upgo up the mountainmountain or near the sidessides of it: whoever puts his foot on the mountainmountain will certainly come to his death:
He is not to be touchedtouched by a handhand, but is to be stonedstoned or have an arrow putput through him; manman or beastbeast, he is to be putput to death: at the longlong sounding of a horn they may come up to the mountainmountain.
Then MosesMoses went downdown from the mountainmountain to the people, and made the people holy; and their clothingclothing was washed.
And when morningmorning came on the third daythird day, there were thundersthunders and flames and a thick cloudcloud on the mountainmountain, and a hornhorn sounding very loudloud; and all the people in the tents were shaking with fear.
And MosesMoses made the people come out of their tents and take their places before GodGod; and they came to the foot of the mountainmountain,
And the Lordthe Lordsaidsaid to MosesMoses, Go downGo down and give the people orders to keep back, for fear that a great number of them, forcing their wayway through to seeseethe Lordthe Lord, may come to destruction.
And let the priestspriests who come nearnear to the Lordthe Lord make themselves holy, for fear that the Lordthe Lord may come on them suddenly.
And MosesMosessaidsaid to the Lordthe Lord, The people will not be able to come up the mountainmountain, for you gave usus orders to putput limits round the mountainmountain, marking it out and making it holy.
